18.01.2022 Introducing our newest Dentist Dr Luke Newman! Born in South Africa and raised in South Brisbane, Dr Luke Newman joined the team at Channon Lawrence Dental in 2020 with the view of settling down in Gympie with his young family. Luke is a caring dentist that enjoys sitting down with his patients and helping them take their oral health from where they are, to where they want to be. ... Dr Newman graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) in 2011 but he wasn’t finished there. Luke made the move to WA to complete a Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Western Australia in 2017, where he graduated with distinction. For Luke, dentistry is a career of life-long learning and he spends a lot of his spare time keeping up to date with the latest dental technology, techniques and advancements. He is passionate about all aspects of dentistry but has a keen interest in restorative dentistry and oral surgery. Away from the practice you’ll usually find Luke on his mountain bike or keeping fit and healthy at the gym. Luke’s wife is a local Gympie girl who loves taking him, their son and dog on adventures to explore the Gympie region. Luke is also a big Aussie Rules fan and, during footy season, he has an ongoing date with his couch to watch Friday Night Footy.

18.01.2022 Meet Jamie, one of the newest Dental Assistant members to the Channon Lawrence Dental Team. Jamie is 18 years young and has lived in Gympie her whole life. She enjoys working closely with the clinical team, as well as the administration team. The thing she enjoys most about working with us is seeing our patient’s confidence grow with their smile just as she did when she received orthodontic treatment with Dr. Mark. In her free time you’ll find Jamie riding her motorbike, gardening, camping or spending time with her dogs.

You will see Catherine just about anywhere in our practice as she is a lady of many skills, her main one being our practice manager. Catherine will have been with us for 10 years this October! She loves the team, and gets enjoyment from seeing patients happy with their end results, especially orthodontic children. Some of Catherine’s favourite things to do are spending time with her three children and traveling around in their caravan exploring beautiful Australia.
