22.01.2022 Not nutrition related at all but.... Sometimes you just gotta get outside and smell the roses, particularly when they’re this big In all honesty we only had one rose on the bush but it smelt so good I couldn’t resist bringing it inside to fill our house with it’s perfume
20.01.2022 Raw veggies have to be the easiest way to get some veggies in with minimal fuss. Ophelia particularly enjoys capsicum and tomato, so on warm days like this we like to cut up some raw veggies and pair it with some protein and maybe some left over roast veg, peas or corn. I think I enjoy these bits and bobs dinners as much as my child
14.01.2022 New brownie recipe on the website. These are a truly beautiful sweet treat to satisfy your taste buds. They’re full of chocolatey goodness but without the sugar rollercoaster. Instead of refined flour I’ve opted for whole foods to be the base of this recipe, in the form of beans. Butter beans have a good amount of protein and fibre to keep you satisfied and look after your good gut bugs. You could also use black beans in place of the butter beans if that’s what you have on h...and. These brownies can be put together so quickly and are nut, gluten and dairy free so they’re suitable for kids lunch boxes or can be made a special afternoon treat. 10.01.2022 Magical unicorn lollies Not really, but sort of. Made these yesterday with some left over coconut cream. They’re gluten free, dairy free, AIP friendly, low sugar and gut friendly due to the healing properties of gelatin that’s used to make them set Gelatin is a wonderful source of collagen. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body and helps make up our skin, muscle, tendons, bones, ligaments and cartilage.... So if you’ve ever wanted to improve joint pain, muscle recovery, weak nails, digestive issues or simply want to improve your skin health collagen may be a great addition to your diet. Anyway this recipe is an easy way to get some gelatin in your diet if your partial to lollies. They’re also great for kids as a nourishing afternoon snack. Recipe: 1/4 cup of gelatin (I used @nutraorganics ) mixed in 1/2 cup of boiling water, stir to bloom. Blend 1 cup of coconut cream with 1/2 cup raspberries. Warm in a saucepan until hot, stir in 1 Tb honey if you want to add some sweetness. Add bloomed gelatin to raspberry coconut cream and stir to combine. Pour into some funky silicone moulds (I got mine from @kmartaus) and put in the fridge to set, about an hour. Pop out of moulds when they’re done and admire how cute they look, eat some of you want too Enjoy x
05.01.2022 Easy mid week meal: Pita pizzas are a fantastic way to get some veg in, use up bits and pieces and can utilize a few pantry and fridge staples. Not to mention it’s an easy way to get kids involved in kitchen.... Tonight we sautéed some zucchini before topping some whole wheat pitas with tomato paste, pesto, veggies, sundried tomato and topped them off with cheese. And I did half for myself with fig and goats cheese because that is officially the best combo ever wouldn’t you agree?!
