20.01.2022 If you were in hospital and unable to communicate, would your family know your wishes around treatment and care? Its hard to discuss and share this with our love...d ones, but it can help them to make decisions and for you to be cared for in the way you would like, should the need arise. In partnership with Orana Neighbourhood House we are offering a second free session on Advance Care Planning. You can attend in person ( subject to COVID -19 restrictions) or join us using Zoom on your device. We can assist you to get this set up prior. The session will be on Friday July 31st at 1.30pm. Bookings are essential, all details can be found in the flyer.

20.01.2022 Happy Neighbourhood House Week. Thank you to the many volunteers, committee members, staff and communities that make houses a place where anyone can go to meet others, learn, celebrate, exercise, upskill, laugh or simply be around others. Check your local Neighbourhood or Community House to see what they have on offer. For more information phone 1800 984 825

19.01.2022 Based on feedback we have updated the Outer East Chatline flyer to make it more clear that it is open to everyone. If you would like a soft copy to be able to distribute via email please contact email [email protected]

19.01.2022 They say that difficult situations can inspire innovation. What can Neighbourhood Houses do differently to keep the community engaged and supported even if we need to close our doors? This is a conversation that we need to have. What ideas do you have? And how can CHAOS assist you to do this?

18.01.2022 Perhaps a way of mapping the journey for ourselves, our houses and our communities?

05.01.2022 Dont forget to stop if you feel you are getting overwhelmed by all that is going on and take some deep breaths. Drop you shoulders and try "square " breathing Breath in to your stomach for four counts and imagine you are drawing vertical line, hold the breath for four counts and draw a line to the right angle to form the top of your square, exhale for four counts and draw a vertical line down to the bottom of your square, wait for four counts and visualise drawing the bottom line of your square, then start again.

03.01.2022 Heres some inspiration from our colleagues in South Australia! wow!

02.01.2022 We know the future is anything but certain. But well stand with Victorians through whatever may come. Today we announced a plan to help get people back to work.... Because even though our restaurants and cafes are quiet, Victorians still need to eat. Frontline and emergency workers still rely on clean, safe public transport. And the communities that suffered so much just a few short months ago still need to be rebuilt. Our Working for Victoria Fund will give thousands of people who have lost their regular employment a chance to contribute towards our states pandemic response. Well need people to deliver food to isolated families. To keep our trams and trains safe and hygienic. To help our charities help communities. It will be a massive task unlike anything we have faced before. It will need all of us working together. And thats exactly what well do.
