24.01.2022 Well well well... a massive shout out to Andrew Page, for perseverance and just being an awesome local. Andrew has been working on a very large document on behalf of Chaplin’s and today... We got our LIQUOR LICENSE APPROVED!!! You heard us... It’s legal to drink at Chaplin’s!!! ... More so than ever now, we can’t wait to have a laugh and a drink with you all! Cheers Andrew!

22.01.2022 Morning to all the Chaplin’s community, This may come as a shock to you all but.. I really quite miss you and I’ve decided to write to you all each morning as though we were at the cafe all together as we usually are. Let’s use this page as communication that we would’ve had in the shop. I’d love to share with you how I’ve been. Many have asked and I think it only fair to keep you posted on my journey through all this too.... it’s been a very big roller coaster for me for t...he last 10 days. I’ve had to process that the cafe may not open again. (NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT MIND YOU!) I’ve had wonderful discussions with my landlords from both home and the cafe and I could not feel more supported for these next stages. I’ve had to tell my loyal staff and dear friends that their jobs are not secure, I’ve had to let go of my space in my little community that has been so very important to me for 8 years, I’ve had to grieve. My entire life was this cafe... and now I’m missing you all. Please know that I’m ok. I have wonderful animals that don’t leave my side and my friends and family as you know but... I’d like to know how you’re all going. Ewart Noë, you’re always on my mind. Patricia, Leon and sue, Neville-and Wendy Smith, david Sommerfield, Brenna Erin (4 kids at home) Lynne, John and Lynne, Cathy i miss our little chats so much. Iain and Alice, Bob white. I know you’ve just joined so I’ll get you on the page! Rosie and Alice, baz and Sandra, Linc and Anita, how is 4 kids at home going for you both? How is everyone going? 18.01.2022 It’s a new week so we’re trying something a little new... We’ll be trading Monday-friday from 7.30am-1.30pm take away hot food from 9.30am... And I’ll post take home meals a little later... Watch this space!

18.01.2022 Morning all... thanks for all the comments yesterday. I should tell you all that I’m not defeated here just confused with the choices that are on offer for the cafe in the future. I also know that that is the mindset of most cafe owners that I know so I do have company!!! I thought I’d rub into you all that I have keys and am drinking our favourite blend! There were tears in my eyes as I looked into this memory of yours and mine. A time that you have captured for us forever. Thank you so much. We all treasure this image, and it’s story. onwards and upwards.

09.01.2022 We’re ready for a small shift into our next stage. Outdoor furniture is out for our take away customers to sit. Please check with staff as to our COVID plan and requirements from customers. We look forward to moving into these next months with you all.

07.01.2022 This decision is based on new information regarding our community. There are a suspected 2 confirmed cases in Trentham. Our decision is NOT permanent. It is purely to regroup and take the correct precautions to care for our staff and customers. We honestly believe it negligent to be continuing trade in these times. Be kind to one another.

07.01.2022 And thanks to all that enjoyed Chaplin’s opening of Chaplin’s Night Spot it was loads of fun and we’re doing it again tonight, and Friday. Starting at 5 and licensed until 11. Come down for a platter or a local vino. Or an esspresso martini and some cheese!!

05.01.2022 Hey folks, WE’RE COMING BACK... Chaplin once said Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles I think this is kinda perfect for these times. Hang in there with us and let’s see how we’ll roll through the next stage of this year!! For now... ... our trading hours will be starting on the 18th May. MON-FRI 7.30am - 10.30am. Serving TAKE AWAY ONLY. Lindy and Mel will be on the coffee machine and trust us, both of us cannot wait to be back there! Luise will be in her kitchen making breakfast rolls, frittatas, and baking muffins, croissants, and soups. We will also have some delicious and easy take home meals. There will be some new rules for the cafe. These are hard for us too so please respect our signage and space. We are doing this to keep not only ourselves safe but our loved community too. Trentham has worked so very hard over the last couple of months and we don’t want to see ourselves go backwards. We love you all and miss you a great deal and we trust that this decision is in the best interest of us all. Thank you all for your constant support, well wishes, and love at this time. Our affectionate, social and treasured community has shown signs of stress and we may not be out of the woods yet but if any town has got this...it’s ours! Be kind and stay safe. 02.01.2022 And the wheels are slowly turning!!!.... Chaplin’s will be closed on Monday to reset and prepare for our new dine in experience!! We will take Tuesday off with the rest of you. We can’t wait to show you all our new breakfast menu. With some great new local features. ... Breakfast will be served between 7.30 and 11am The lunch menu will stay the same for the time being. Hang in there with us on this interesting journey. It’s only upwards from here! Trading hours 7.30-1.30pm We look forward to seeing you all seated and in the warm with us!!
