07.01.2022 Remember to check yourself to protect yourself! Louise recently visited our BreastScreen Mammographer Samantha for her routine mammogram. 'It was really simple ...to make a booking. They gave me a choice of locations for the appointment and because I’m in a wheelchair, let me know which locations would be the best for me. The staff are fabulous. A short period of discomfort is well worth the benefits of early detection!' If you’re aged 50-74, have your FREE breast screen every two years. Don’t delay, phone 13 20 50 today. 06.01.2022 The health of Canberrans is our priority. To ensure that we are doing everything we can to protect our community, #COVID19 testing criteria is being expanded fo...r two weeks from this Friday 24 April 2020. To date, there have been over 7,000 negative tests in the ACT. With the recent drop in demand for testing using the existing criteria, we now have more capacity to test other groups of people and increase our surveillance of COVID-19. With this expansion, if you have a fever of 38 degrees or greater or have respiratory infection (shortness of breath, cough or sore throat), you will be able to be tested even if you have not recently travelled overseas or had contact with a confirmed case. Please call your GP or present for testing at one of our two designated Respiratory Assessment Clinics at The Weston Creek Walk-in-Centre or the EPIC drive through testing site. There is no need for everybody to try and get tested on Friday when the new arrangements start. The expanded criteria will be in place for the next two weeks and we ask Canberrans to be patient when seeking testing if they are feeling unwell. Also, a reminder that all people who are tested under the new arrangements will be required to self-isolate until they receive a negative test result. 01.01.2022 Robert: So here's a meditation that you can practice on yourself. See these are all tools, use them, if you have to. They work and will cause changes. Make yourself comfortable. Close your eyes to remove obstructions and take ten deep breaths from your diaphragm. Inhale through your nose, expand your abdominals. Exhale through your nose and mouth and contract your abdominals, in slow motion, ten deep breaths, slowly and gently. This is to relax you. Now just breath normally.... Now you begin to practice, vipassana meditation for a little bit, where you become aware of your breath, feel the sensations in your body. Just breath normally. Become aware of your breath and the sensations in your body. Ignore your thoughts. Whatever thoughts come to you, be the observer, the witness, ignore them... - Robert Adams, CW, Ts 24
