25.01.2022 Throwback to the new four cinema complex we designed for Luna Palace

24.01.2022 Marathon workload this month as we complete 7 restaurants and VIP areas for the 2020 Australian Open. We are building architectural forms, selecting furniture and fittings, commissioning soundtracks, creating landscapes and basically doing all we can to make every guest that visits feel special. This is the Dressing Room, a high octane experience, which hosts guests that sit court side on Rod Laver Arena. The interior we have created is inspired by 60s Op artist Bridget Riley and the Razzle Dazzle of naval ships.

24.01.2022 A quiet space at the back of the Founders Club a VIP retreat at the 2019 Australian Open. Art by Tony Lloyd represented by MARS Gallery. Tony Lloyd is a painter and explorer of highways and mountains. His realist paintings have a cinematic illustriousness and a dreamlike familiarity to them. His works are often epic visions of landscapes captured at singular moments in time; sunrise creeping across a rock face, a cars headlights illuminating the darkness and a weightless asteroid hovering in empty space. Lloyds paintings are held both public and private collections and he has received recognitions for his work such as the John Leslie Art Prize, the Belle Arti Prize, the Sulman Highly Commended prize, the RMIT Post Graduate Award as well as Development Grants from the Australia Council for the Arts.

18.01.2022 INSPIRATION behind this op art room "It was like she was painting with electricity and the patterns were live wires!" we played with colours, shapes and patterns layered strategically over everyday items to blur edges and create optical illusion.

Throughout the year the room situated courtside under Rod Laver Arena is a bunker style chair storage space, but in the lead up to each event we transform the space adding carpets, wallcoverings and furniture, ultimately creating this exclusive VIP room. 11.01.2022 CHARD International was last night shortlisted in the 2019 Australian Interior Design Awards. Australian Interior Design Awards ts the first time we have entered such a competition. Its hard to find the time really but I felt so strongly about this room that I felt it was necessary. For me being shortlisted in a high profile National Interior Design comp is all about the recognition of what the group of people who came together on delivery of this project achieved more tha...n a desire to win. Our collaborative work is exemplary but shortlivedwe stress, struggle and put incredible strain on ourselves and our relationships to deliver these spaces and then they are gone before we realise what has truly happened and without us being able to fully appreciate and enjoy the fruits of our labour. This recognition as small as it is goes a long way towards allowing us to unite for a minute and to look back with a smile. 07.01.2022 Today we are working on our favourite project here in Madrid, The Miranda Cocktail Bar. The space is inspired by the great Carmen Miranda and actually owned by a Carmen as well. Our aim has been to build a tropical, exotic vibe in a slick, contemporary manner. Today the monkeys arrived (Seletti monkeys are a favourite of ours) making the Cole and Son Savutti wallpaper come to life. 01.01.2022 Reflections and illusion play a big part in this recent renovation of a family home in Toorak Melbourne. We love to create spaces that expand on the potential of the pre existing build, inspiring those that live there and creating depth and layers that enable dreaming. This image is part reflection in a black mirror and part high gloss built elements, strips of LED lights and 3D artwork. Concrete wallpaper and bleached wood floors act as anchors to the myriad reflections.
