23.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE - NEW DATE BUT SAME GREAT DAY The next installment of our annual tradition of mate against mate, site against site will return to Pirtek Park Singleton this November as 18 teams will compete for bragging rights and the converted title of 2020 Champions. #CharityRugbyLeagueDay #GameOn #RescueHelicopter
21.01.2022 Charity Rugby League Day - Postponement Announcement Whilst a considerable amount of energy and effort has been poured into the planning of this event under the challenging conditions, we have always remained optimistic about the hosting the event this year, with hope that we could provide the community an escape from the current happening during this health pandemic. Unfortunately today we can confirm that based on our risk assessment and consideration provided for the curr...ent Government restrictions, it is with much regret that we announce the postponement of the 2020 A-Plus Contracting Charity Rugby League Day until March 2021. Following consultation with all of our teams, we have settled on a revised date of Saturday 20 March 2021. It is anticipating that the event will have to take a different shape with a much slimmed down version of the event in March compared to what we have all come to know and enjoy each year. The biggest change we anticipate is that spectators will not be able to attend the event due to the 500 person capacity of the venue based on current restrictions. However we are confident that we will continue to have a high level of engagement with the community and are currently working through the logistics at present to ensure that we can have all games streamed live directly from Pirtek Park, Singleton throughout the day. Even with this change in format we are estimating that we should be in a position to raise approximately $80,000-$90,000 which will have considerable positive boost for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter given the vast majority of face to face fundraising this year has been cancelled or suspended due to Covid-19. We again express our gratitude and sincere thanks to all of our team sponsors and in particular our event partners, A-Plus Contracting, Jennings Print, Pirtek-Singleton & Muswellbrook, Tyre Doctor, Mine Super, Slater & Gordon, Mader New South Wales, NSW Mining, Hunter Valley Operations, Yancoal, All-Pro, Aletek, At The Coalface, Bowers Heavy Haulage, Coal Services Mines Rescue, Oiltest, Walton Mining Service and the Singleton Untied Rugby League Club Additional announcements will be made closer to the event via our website www.charityrugbyleagueday.com.au.
19.01.2022 Huge congratulations to A Plus Contracting and the Maitland Pickers Rugby League Club on the win this afternoon the NSW Rugby League Presidents Cup.
18.01.2022 When we perform a rescue we know that every patient is important to others, as a parent, child, colleague or friend. Not only do our missions impact the patient..., but also their loved ones. This Father’s Day we would like to recognise the Fathers and Grandfathers that are connected with us as patients, carers and of course as pilots and crew. Chris and Rachel were rescued in separate incidents - a motorbike and motor vehicle accident nearly 10 years apart. They are pictured below with their two beautiful daughters, Alyvia and Maycie and Aircrew Officer Nathan Langham. #HappyFathersDay #StaySafe
13.01.2022 Well we should have been nearing the pointy end of this year’s A Plus Contracting #CharityRugbyLeague given today was to be the day however as we all know it was just not meant to be. We look forward to hosting the day next March. Big thanks to all our teams and sponsors for supporting our decision to reschedule.
06.01.2022 REVISED DATE ANNOUNCED FOR 2020 CHARITY RUGBY LEAGUE DAY - SATURDAY 7 NOVEMBER Since the launch of the 2020 A-Plus Contracting Hunter Valley Mining Charity Rugby League Day back in late March there has definitely been some positive changes to everyday life with the easing of restrictions and reduced active cases of Coronavirus during this health crisis that we all face. From the onset of planning this year’s Charity Rugby League event it was been done so under a cloud given ...the Coronavirus pandemic. In light of the Government's recent easing of restrictions we are starting to see new arrangements being put in place to accommodate community activities/events including local sporting competitions. Whilst it has not been confirmed, the local Hunter Valley Group 21 Rugby League Grand Final has been tentatively scheduled for October 17 should their competition commence mid-July, which would see a clash in dates. Similarly, we are advised that the Newcastle Hunter Rugby League competition would be in the midst of it finals series at the same time should they recommence in July as well. It has therefore been decided that it’s in the best interest of all involved and to ensure maximum fundraising potential that we will be moving the event from our traditional October date to a new date of SATURDAY 7th NOVEMBER 2020. In pushing the event back by a few weeks, it's hoped that we will be able to ensure that there is no clash of date with local Rugby League competitions but also hopefully allow us to host the event under even further reduced Coronavirus restrictions. We currently have 16 teams registered and it is anticipated to increase in the coming weeks. Once again, we thank all of the players and sponsors for supporting this event, and look forward to seeing everyone come together for another great celebration of community in support the vital live saving work of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service - Official Site
05.01.2022 We’re always there to help, so our crews know the importance of looking out for each other, ensuring that one another is ‘OK’! If you’ve noticed a change and a...re feeling someone you know or care about isn’t behaving normally, no matter how small, trust your gut instinct and act on it and ask R U OK? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. By starting a conversation and commenting on the changes you’ve noticed, you could help that family member, friend or workmate open up. If they say they are not OK, start a conversation and show them they’re supported and help them find strategies to better manage the load. If they are OK, that person will know you’re someone who cares enough to ask. So today, ask someone in your ‘crew’ if they are OK! A conversation could change a life.
