25.01.2022 Sometimes I'm blown away by client's generosity! Here is my middle child enjoying a delicious, juicey orange from a lovely, caring client! They were absolutely AMAZING! All 20 of them! I'm very blessed !

24.01.2022 Teaming up with the unstoppable Dr Jo Milios, physio Anastasia and generous supporters and volunteers Ray, Nick, Samantha, Carrie, Lucy, Bernie, Cheryl & Chris today to raise much needed funds for Cancer Rehab Awareness Week (Pinc & Steel) & Prostate Cancer month (Prost). Thank you to everyone for your support and donations! It was a great day!

24.01.2022 I am beyond PROUD of Samantha....my beautiful PINC and NEXT STEPS recruit who competed today in the INBA Global Perth Body Quest Competition. As one of my very first TRAM & DIEP reconstructions, she has come SO far, beating the odds and returning to her pre-cancer goals of competitive body building despite chemotherapy, radiotherapy and multiple painful surgeries. She is proof that with the correct guidance and support, you can do ANYTHING! Congratulations Sam...what a pleasure it was to see you up on stage!

23.01.2022 We know you are already here to support the campaign to raise awareness about cance rehab and we really appreciate that. But, if you were wondering why we need ...this campaign at all.... check out the link below. Thanks for being here! 2 days to go.... Why do we need Cancer Rehab Awareness Week 2020? Current oncology practice is, failing those with cancer with regard to prescribing exercise rehab, says a Call-to-Action Report from a global coalition of forty leaders from seventeen organisations, spearheaded by the American College of Sports Medicine. 22.01.2022 Very poignant message this week for me too (as my Dad had a medical emergency last week)...remember to stop and breathe ...

21.01.2022 At least 1 in 3 people are diagnosed with cancer, and successfully completing treatment is often just their first step in their recovery. You can help by supporting PINC & STEEL in its launch of the world’s first Cancer Rehabilitation Awareness Week, 7-13th September, 2020. Spread the word so that no one has to go through this alone.

20.01.2022 Men's Pelvic Health has often been an area where discussion is taboo. With the rise of social media this is changing, for the better. This informative and easy to listen to podcast by Dr Jo Milios, enlightens us about the importance of Men's Health and it's relationships to mental health and even heart disease.

14.01.2022 Repost from @pincandsteelcancerrehabfoundationaustralia The Federal Government has announced a commitment of $2 million per year to boost state and territory compression garment subsidy schemes. This means all Australians will have easier access to much needed compression garments subsidised by the government to help them manage this condition. Federal Minister for Health Greg Hunt said this "represents a significant step towards a nationally consistent approach to this important issue". Good work also to the Lymphoedema Support Group South Australia for their persistent efforts to fight for a compression garment scheme for SA residents. https://www.health.gov.au//morrison-and-marshall-governmen

13.01.2022 This is a great article discussing how a Mediterranean diet may be useful in reducing your risk of cancer and cancer reoccurance. For a long time we've suspected a link between some cancers and an unhealthy pattern of food consumption and/or obesity. A diet high in unprocessed and plant-based foods may be the key and the answer...

05.01.2022 Pinc & Steel have been the lucky recipients of a Dry July Foundation grant! This year it has funded 18 beautiful deserving West Aussies to do our Next Steps Cancer Rehab Programs in Carine and Rivervale! For some of our participants it has formed the start of their rehab post chemotherapy/radiotherapy, for others it's provided motivation to "get back on the horse" and prioritise their health after cancer; for me (along with the generosity of our two venues - JSA and Complete ...Physio Carine and our awesome volunteers)...it has allowed me to offer this amazing life changing program again for the 2nd time in Perth. My beautiful girlfriends have decided to fundraise with me this year for Dry July so that we can help others with cancer and support this wonderful charity. Thanks girls from the bottom of my . If you can spare a few dollars for charity, please follow the link below. http://www.dryjuly.com/teams/the-thirsty-birds

04.01.2022 #Repost New Blog: The PALB2 gene and its links to breast cancer When it comes to discussing a hereditary predisposition for breast cancer, usually the genes BRCA1 and BRACA2 are the ones that take centre stage.
