It is important that if you wish to marry overseas that you comply with all their requirements of the country to ensure that your marriage can be legally registered. I have had a few requests for marriages in Sanotorini Greece. If you wish to get married in Greece you will need to have for each bride and groom: 1. Certificate of no impediment - this is issued by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and must be Apostilled. 2. No record certificate from the state Births Deaths and Marriages registry. This states that there is no record of a prior marriage. This certificate must be Apostilled by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 3. Birth certificate from the state Births Deaths and Marriages registry. This certificate must be a Apostilled by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. 4. If you have been married before the previous Marriage Certifciate and Divorce Order which must be apostilled by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. We are happy to assist you in providing all the necessary advice and information to ensure that your marriage documentation is processed smoothly. We lodged the documents at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.without any extra notary costs. Charles M Reichman Notary & Lawyer [email protected]

20.01.2022 Consular Legalisation Services at this time A reminder that documents for any countries that a part of the Hague Document convention such as most countries in Europe, South America, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Bahrain, and Israel do not require consulate legalisation. These are legalised by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs with an Apostille. We continue to offer this service. Other countries such as Vietnam, China continue to provide Legalisation... services. The United Arab Emirates is open for personal lodgements. We welcome any questions

03.01.2022 THE VAGARIES OF CITIZENSHIP Many people are taking up Italian citizenship and recently the Italian Consulate required The original of birth certificates to a company the application. I wrote a letter to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to say that that he is acting against the Apostille convention in that a certified copy by a notary was valid and thankfully the Italian Consul agreed with me. So now if you are applying for an Italian citizenship I can certify copies of birth and marriage certificates and you can keep the originals.
