19.01.2022 ARE YOU READY TO HEAD WEST AND START YOUR DREAM VETERINARY JOB? DO YOU WANT TO WORK WITH A CARING, FUN AND SUPPORTIVE TEAM? That’s awesome, because guess what? We’re hiring! ... The Charleville Vet Surgery is looking for another SUPERSTAR vet to join our team of young, fun and passionate individuals, and help grow our rapidly expanding practice! The Charleville Vet Surgery is located on a tranquil 22acres on the edge of Charleville, with a well equipped small animal clinic including digital x ray, IDEXX blood machine, iM3 dental machine, fluid pumps etc. We also have several safe horse paddocks, and four bay horse barn, with big plans and plenty of room for expansion in the near future. In previous years the surgery was scaled back and operating as a small animal only clinic, but has recently changed hands and we are itching to get back into mixed practice! We are currently a single vet practice (with locums assisting every few months), with two full time and two part time support staff. What your job will entail: - Working with excellent clients - Large surgical caseload (trauma, soft tissue, orthopaedic) - Getting to experience all the west has to offer by travelling an area around the size of Tasmania to conduct branch clinics - Having all the equipment you need to do a great job (and if we don’t have it, we will do our best to get it for you!) - Mixed or small animal only work - Access to an endless lollie/chocolate supply to get through those busy days - Great work/life balance What we are looking for: - A caring, confident individual with great communication skills - An experienced vet, that is comfortable with some sole charge (confident new graduates welcome to apply) - A can do attitude and a willingness to ‘give it a go’ - A team player who will work to build the practice and relationships with clients What we can offer: - A friendly, supportive team environment where the wellbeing and happiness of our staff is our highest priority - Flexible working arrangements. We know one size doesn’t fit all, and we really want to find what works for you to foster a long term relationship at the clinic - Above award wages, with remuneration based on your attitude and experience - Minimal afterhours and on call - 1 in 4 weekends, 1 night/ week (owner lives on site so is available for most on call duties, and is never far away when help is needed!) - Mixed or small animal only - Opportunity for profit share if a particular area interests you - Opportunity for partnership in the future - Emphasis on continuing education including one week paid study leave and generous study allowance If you think the Charleville Vet Surgery sounds like it could be for you, or you would just like to learn more about us, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or email! 19.01.2022 Christmas is just around the corner! We are closing the office over Christmas and New Year, but will endeavour to be available for any emergencies during this time. Be sure to plan ahead and book in any appointments before we close to make sure your pets are up to date with their vaccinations, and healthy for the holidays. We have very few spots left for our boarding kennels (both dogs and cats) over this period, so please phone us to check availability to make sure you don't miss out

14.01.2022 RATBAIT POISONING We have been seeing an alarming number of ratbait poisonings in dogs over the last few weeks. Ratbait is an anticoagulant and can cause fatal bleeding within the body if not treated promptly. Please monitor the locations of any baits you have out, or use traps as an alternative. Animals do not have to eat the bait directly, and can get secondary poisoning from ingesting poisoned mice!! ... Ratbait poisoning can be reversed if treated early. Signs to look out for include pale gums, lethargy and inappetence. Please contact us immediately if you believe your pet has come into contact with a bait.

04.01.2022 Thanks Zoe and Lucy for sending us a photo today rocking your CVS caps at the Augathella Campdraft! Goodluck and we hope it’s a great weekend! We love seeing our caps out and about, so make sure you comment below or tag us in any photos wearing them!
