14.01.2022 This mess is another way I try and reduce my environmental impact while sewing. These scraps are left over from cutting out nappies and undies and are perfect for breast pads. Any scraps that are too small after this job is finished, go in a bag ready to be used at the collage table at my kindy or are given to a friend who makes fabric earrings. 02.01.2022 Hi there! I’m still around and still working hard but OMG what a crazy couple of months that it’s been (fitting well with the theme of 2020). Life for extremely busy here at Charlibee HQ with work happening on dance costumes, report writing time, job hunting and then to top it off a sudden albeit brief lockdown situation after SA recorded community transmission COVID cases in months. 02.01.2022 This is what kept me busy throughout October and November. Normally in November my daughters dance school have their end of year concert, but covid forced that to be postponed. Instead, the concert was finally held this weekend gone. The concert is always an amazing event with lots of work behind the scenes. In addition to decorating 2 of these beautiful tutus and other costume alterations, I made 24 of the tapping card costumes for our Alice in Wonderland production. 01.01.2022 We are trying our hardest to be more sustainable. Before Charlibee took a break, I was very aware of how much plastic was in our packaging, so when I reopened, I made a conscious effort to think about reducing the plastic I use, particularly in packaging. Since I’m running completely online at the moment, our parcels are wrapped in brown paper, tied with ribbon that can be reused and sent in a @hero.packaging bag, which can reused and composted. I’m also looking for an alternative to the plastic sticky tape I currently use. #sustainablebusiness #environmentallyfriendly #reducingplastic #reusable #onesmallchange
