25.01.2022 With winter almost gone (Well, let us pray) its time to start thinking about re-vamping some of our spaces for the warmer months. Making them more enjoyable, practical & school holiday functional. Out door areas for summer BBQs are always a big hit for me. There is nothing better than enjoying an ice cold bevvy with special mates & family! I am so excited to close the fire place door for the last time... bring it on! I know theres a little bit to go yet, especially down h...ere in the south west, but seriously just let me dream My little humble abode is coming together nicely, not at all bad for a whole lot of second hand repurposed items. 25.01.2022 Well, here it is. You know, all the times we wish & journal & manifest our current reality only to realise, shit... Im not ready. I dont have the office set up yet, or my car needs an upgrade, or I dont have enough staff to cater for all this!! But instead of holding back, you throw yourself so deep into the mix that you totally forget what day it is? A few months back I was holding back on a talent I have carried for years. I founded this business as a hobby, only to rea...lise people need me more than ever & I didnt realise the feeling of content I have when I sprinkle magic into peoples lives and leave, would mean so much to me! I have been so busy lately, out and about meeting new people I can help in some way. Bring order to their lives, help them release old stagnant energy, make room for the new, even save relationships!! I know right. Deep. But so relevant and so rewarding! That I have forgotten that posting here is also important. To connect with the people reading, watching & supporting. Fact is, I love to write, I love to create, I love to boss you around with my purest intentions and make your world better for the long hall. But I mostly love to do it when I feel intuitively pulled to type these words for you. Not because Im worried about an algorithm messing up my feed. So I hope that the value I bring you is enough. 23.01.2022 Little snippets of my short stay at the stunning @studio_jungalow Just minutes from the heart of Margaret River, WA. A beautiful cosy abode, consisting of two bedrooms, combined open plan kitchen, dining & lounge. A bathroom to die for. The natural light in this space is simply perfection. Gifted a beautiful bottle of wine on arrival from one of the local wineries, a quiet street with the smell of nature not too far away. ... This would be fitting for a couples getaway or a family of four. Though not an entire property, it is surprisingly very spacious with the furnishings well planned out. Highly recommended if stopping through Margaret River. One of the many incredible properties on our up and coming directory..... 22.01.2022 Air Bnb make over When Deb & Dave Binks first came to me. They had a need to turn their downstairs level of their home into an Air Bnb. Not at all knowing where to begin, and had a very specific but small budget to work with. Living in a country zoned area like we do, it isnt always easy to buy furniture or duck down to the store, so a lot of these items are re used from their home, made by hand using recycled materials, and or purchased online with my help side by side.... Its a daunting feeling, this whole interior designers cost money and maybe thats most. My brain works slightly different & its so important to me that I work with the clients that appreciate how I can transform a space on a tight budget but big vision. I excel at this because thats how I have lived my whole life. Im a dreamer. Im creative, I am particular in the way I do things... and for very good reason. Truth is, I dont want to work for just any body. I want to attract those who need me. Where I can make impact. Change, forward movement for peoples lives. This space still has some final touches to go, including some of Davids own photography as art on the walls to tie in the local culture. The natural light in this space is just Devine. 22.01.2022 Ive been a little pre-occupied lately. Im so sorry Ive been absent on here. I have so much to share as well. You guys know fair well how important community is to me. You know its literally the backbone of my business & nothing is more important. A few weeks back, my dear friend @mrs.hayley.lane lost her dad. Its been a very hard & confusing time for all. So when she decided she needed some family time away for a few weeks to gather her thoughts and heal her broken heart... & asked me if I would move in and run her multi million dollar empire @premalaya I leaped. I mean, packed my bags in an instant & figured it out because not only is she one of my best friends and this is just what we do... its also the life I could only dream of. I am so grateful for the opportunity to give her that time away, but mostly to learn the ins and outs of running a business like this. Its on my list of dreams for myself & nothing is more valuable than experiences to learn & grow from. Especially in business. So if youre waiting on quotes from me, or a reply email, or wondering why I havent posted in a while... I havent fallen off the face of the planet & I will get back to you all very soon.... 17.01.2022 Do you ever really know a person? I often have people say to me. Wow you must have the nicest home, everything would be nice, not kid friendly and thank god you dont have kids hey I dont have children... (yet) I do have nice things, things that did not cost my right arm. In fact the chair I am sitting on right now typing this, was free. 80% of my home is made up on free or second hand items that I have saved from going to landfills, items I have gathered in my travels. ...Up cycled and made better with some elbow grease & love. Having children doesnt mean you cant have a nice home. Its about the value of how it can be used in each item of furniture rather than its price tag. Its about what memories can be made when sitting at the dining table... mine still has pen and paint marks all over it from the previous family who owned it. Its actually why I wanted it. Its been lived on and loved. Its been messy, it tells a story. It was also a friends, so each time I look at the paint marks I think of them and I love that. ( @belle__wood ) A house full of love aka children needs to be practical. Trust me when I say. Your home can look incredible, bring out glimpses of every individuals personality, have creative flair & STILL not cost you excessive amounts. Life is meant to be lived. Its supposed to be messy, thats how memories are made. At the last hours of our lives on earth. All we have are the memories. Dont let the fear of tiny fingerprints on your furniture stop you from making them!! P.S I am pretty much a surrogate mama to around 20 children in this community, they rampage through my home on sometimes a daily basis. My level of fear of ruining things is pretty slim, because its second hand anyways. Its also probably going to add more heart value for me too. I really dont know how long a project or task will take unless I have seen it and felt the energy in the space & spoken to you in person on what your end goals are for your space. . It could take me 30 minutes and it could take me hours to grasp. So to make it easy for you, I have decided to do flat rate consultations. . 15.01.2022 Air BnB ~ Main Bedroom Another room to add to the books. Taking this room with a little AND a lot going on. Bringing it back a notch to classic & simple. Clean, crisp, roomy but cozy at the same time. A hand made bed head out of recycled materials, a few purchased items but most importantly, the bulk changes in this room were done using what my client already owned. 15.01.2022 Shes done it again Another room completed out at the amazing @premalaya. Little miss was extremely overwhelmed by this task, to the point her little cancerian heart just couldnt sleep in there. Shes a lot like me, she needs cozy and safe, warmth, and everything needs to have a home. Her vision was warm, rustic, farm house style, shes obsessed with animals, mainly horses, so little accents of those majestic creatures was a must. She had no storage space, so we have gone... with under the bed storage, but by the time we decluttered and put it all away, we managed to condense that down to just one tub. That is a WIN for mum just incase you were wondering! We still have a floating shelf to go in above the bed head to act as a frame, this black wall was already there so we worked with it to save on costs. Her mum treated her to new bedding which totalled to a total spend of $80 (Not bad, not bad at all) . Im about to check in to see how she slept (its just a ritual of mine) The icing on the cake for me. You guys know I work on energy. How a space makes my people FEEL rather than look. . 2 rooms down.... I cant even count how many to go. 10.01.2022 Hayden & Kelly Lamp 34 year old parents of Spencer & Emily, purchased their property in 2017. If youre local you may have heard of this historical but magical 40 acre lot @wildcroftcottages In Yallingup! With the idea of restoring the old cottages in mind to accomodate guests visiting the area on holiday, all their budget has mainly gone into that venture. Makes total sense to me. It left them with a very small yet spacious basic home for their family of four. Hayde...n is a FIFO electrician & is away for work for two weeks at a time. This leaves Kelly to run this ship on her own (She does it so well ) The house however took to the back burner as she just made do with it. They almost just agreed to sit with it how it was, because they just couldnt find the way out or find the imagination to bring a different vibe into the mix. They thought it just wouldnt be in their budget. The overwhelming feels took over Kelly so much she just could not wrap her head around it! The clutter, the upkeep, the constant rings she was running around herself!! Until Kelly saw a post from a friend about me! I cant show you every room in this post because Instagram only lets me do ten at a time! So here is the first room reveal (the one I believe is most precious.... Mum & Dads room) From bland to style, comfort & sentimental to bring them together each night they get to fall asleep next to each other. Because they dont get to often & to me its so important. Bonding as parents tends to take over the schedules these days its easy to forget that they were a couple before their angels came along! I hope the new vibe in this space does exactly that. I can not wait to post up the other rooms, and I will. 06.01.2022 So many times I hear people talk about art for their walls & the price tag that comes with it. I cringe. Every. Single.Time. Art is something that should bring warmth to your walls. Its an element that can turn any old house into a home & isnt that what were all trying to achieve? In a world that is so full of bulk manufacturing, heavy polluted factories pumping out replica versions of other peoples art... why not make your own? Im a big fan of that if you couldnt it al...ready tell! This one here is in a clients home & she already had it lurking in the closet so instead of overdoing it and buying things she just really didnt need. In true TK form, I found the perfect spot. ~ Art will be different for everyone. Its a reflection of our unique style & vision. It tells a different story for everyone & thats what makes art super unique. I say make it yourself. I mean I am no Picasso, but I think pick your vibe match it with colours, tell your story and hang. If you are fortunate enough to have a large budget. Find your local artist and buy from them! I love keeping it local! 05.01.2022 The forever evolving room. This was the first room I ever did when I started sprinkling my fairy dust out at @premalaya. Originally there were two little girls sleeping in here in a huge bunk bed. Due to very limited space & a total of four little babes needing to rest their heads at night, one little man found himself (By Choice) sleeping on the day bed in the lounge. Dont worry, hes well looked after, mum just has so much on her plate that she needed a new pair of eyes t...o bring in a new vision to cater for all her kids. She also wanted to claim her couch back so she had somewhere to switch off once the kids had gone to bed! I am so proud of little miss Keoki who is 10 who joined her older sister in the second part of the home so that her brother could have his own room. Literally taking one for the team. Both the younger ones need to be close to mum & dad so they now share a room. Happy campers. Being that boys will be boys & girls, well, take over the room regardless LOL, I have adjusted and tweaked and changed the layout to accomodate both of their personalities in one room. But most importantly, giving them the gift of a good nights sleep. This room still has a few things to go in time, but I am loving the current state. Both kids now have under the bed storage that is all categorised. They know where everything goes and even Enjoy playing in their room together. 05.01.2022 Feeling the push to clear a few things up with you guys, especially the people I see on a daily basis, or talk to on the regular via this platform. Something I often recognise when opening up conversations about interiors or home organisation or the general up keep of a home, is the amount of times people justify having a little disorganisation, a little mess, an Un - swept floor. Almost like they think I am perfect & like Im judging them! I need you to understand that Im ...not. I need you to understand that I never judge a home for face value. I work on energy. I work on how I can make your day to day lives easier, more streamlined, to save you time, to allow you some breathing space. I need you To understand that having that discussion around whats not working is what draws you To me in the first place. Please know I come from a place of help, not hinder & it has nothing to do with being inadequate or unworthy. Youre not doing anything wrong, there are no rules, no handbook. You are doing the best you can! This urge to feel like you need to have it together in your household all the time needs to stop. Life is messy, were all busy, we forget things, some of us are doing it solo, some of us are mums, some of us have fifo partners or men that work long hours & cant contribute much to the upkeep of the house. Some of us dont have kids, but run a busy schedule and that alone is enough to wanna throw your hands in the air at housework some days and say No to the mundane roster of being an adult. Last week I worked an 80 hour week, I was exhausted beyond measure & though I could see the mess piling up, it just didnt get done because .... well, I didnt get to it. Im not going to justify it because I dont have to. Nor do you! So for the imperfect people reading this. I am just as human as you, I relate more than you know. You dont need to have it all together all the time and nor do I. Its always fixable, and the key is to just start somewhere. Living in your home should be enjoyable. 01.01.2022 What Im about to say to you today, may come as a shock. Mainly because I never thought this was a thing, had no understanding of how algorithms on social media work & to put it very simply; it seems a little mean and harsh, and I really just dont have a mean bone in me.. (well, unless you mess with my food or make me do unnecessary cardio) Last year, this account was hacked. It started out with losing all my photos, one by one they dissolved, I was locked out of my accoun...t and after months of fighting Instagram to get it back, not only did I have to start again, I also noticed I was followed by all these random accounts and I was also following them too! I sat there every day and manually unfollowed every single person who was not real! It was excruciating & painful! For a while I have noticed that not many people are seeing my posts. So here I go again, with the help of an ap that tells me whos not interacting with me, and they are being booted off. Im literally one by one removing them! So..... Before I continue, I want to give you the chance to stay in this space. I intend on removing thousands at this stage. I would rather have a lot less eyes on me who actually want to be here, gaining knowledge, being inspired, feeling a part of this community than have a mass number of followers who are either fake or just not interested. I am all about authentic approaches when it comes to business and life in general. So my people, if you wanna stay here. Please jump all over this account, go back and like images, throw down some comments, tag your mates, so that this very smart ap I have will recognise you as an active part of this space and I dont boot you off. 01.01.2022 [ Things that light up my soul ] I dont know about you, but the feeling I get when I walk into my small town of #cowaramup in Western Australias south west coast, is just so dam good. We have many eco conscious businesss, I am only just one. I feel so proud to be apart of a community that takes reducing our environmental foot print seriously, people who care about the future of the next generation, Mother Earth, our wildlife, and each other! My eco journey started long... before I knew exactly the positive impact we could all make and it hasnt been easy. Each day and every day moving forward, I strive to perfect my lifestyle with limiting plastic use, not buying from the big chain companies like Coles and woolies, investing my money into my local community & feel proud as punch and good about my purchases. I feel not one ounce of guilt when I shop local. Especially when there are businesses like @wildearthtradingco where I can just BYO glass reusable jar & fill her up with my choice of laundry liquid, dishwashing liquid, hand soap & many more household items Modern concepts like this are leading the way in business in my opinion. If your mission statement & values dont include something about reducing waste and manufacturing of plastics or something along those lines... its a no from me. Yes its challenging and sometimes not the most convenient, but with a little more preparation on my part, I think this eco conscious life and I are going to be the best of friends forever! I forgot to take out my bin a few weeks back & I woke up freaking. I mean no one likes a 2 week old bin stinking out the place, but when I ran out to run it down the driveway I realised there was nothing In it!! A pretty good indication I am producing less waste than I have in the past. Im happy with that. Imagine, just imagine, if we were all taking our bins out every 2 weeks! Change can happen. 01.01.2022 [ Wardrobe Love ] Well, as humans were all very different, I am sure you already know this. Some of us find it easy to let go, and some of us not so much. For some people, clothing is a part of them, its an identity, a comfort zone, a feeling of pleasure, a creative release. But when that little pleasure gets too much for you and your wardrobe becomes so overwhelming that you just dont enjoy it anymore, its time to do something about it. Michelle was literally buying n...ew items of clothing because she thought she didnt have what she thought, only to find today that she did all along, she just couldnt see it!! Her hubby had a stash of lovely clothes he didnt even know he owned , he was at his last tether with the clutter (Thank god he adores his wife and has such a chilled personality) Yay Lance what a man! Today, in 5 hours, we culled, we had tears of sadness and of joy, we laughed at the stories each piece of clothing had behind it, we poured a Champagne , because, well, it was emotionally tough and our little lady needed a chill. Also Im totally ok with day drinking, its a thing! Lol... It brings me the greatest pleasure to help people bring that joy back to their lives.
