22.01.2022 Why do you train? Thank you to those that have liked and followed Charlie Hammond Personal Training. This page is dedicated to sharing my knowledge of health and fitness with the world along with a little motivation. ... As part of my job Im often asking and reviewing my clients fitness goals and aspiration. Yesterday a client that Ive been training for 2 years asked me why/what do you train for? Its not often that I get asked this question but it is something I regularly think about. Without getting into the specifics and writing a full length essay, I have one simple over all goal and that is to be physically capable of doing almost anything at anytime. I never want to pass on an opportunity in life because I physically cant do it. I want to be capable of hiking, snowboarding, rock climbing, playing tennis, football, etc at anytime. Theres are a few certain realities in life and one is that our bodies will get old and start to break down. From birth to 20 years old we are mostly getting used to the bodies weve spent our whole lives up to that point growing into. From 40 years old onwards, physically everything becomes progressively harder. This leaves a 20 year window to get out and do all the things you want to do because once that window closes, there no winding back the clock. So next time you go to the gym, think to yourself, would you rather do a workout today and take another step towards being a happier, healthier person or spend the second half of your life regreting that you were never strong/fit enough to do things you wanted to do. The choice is yours, what will it be?
