22.01.2022 Sweet little Eevee is an adorable little girl who is looking for a loving home. Eevee loves playing with children (or just about anyone really!) and is gentle ...and very wiggly. She also gives delightful puppy kisses Comment below if you’re interested and we’ll send you a link to her profile on our website, with more details on where you can adopt her from M/C: 991003000106846

21.01.2022 Miss Bundy would like to thank you, her KPR family, from the bottom of her heart for the outpouring of love, donations and condolences on the loss of her beauti...ful puppies. Although the remaining 5 puppies are not yet strong enough to feed from their mumma, she is doing a great job of looking after them and loving them between bottle feeds. Although the last 24 hours have been absolutely heartbreaking and exhausting for all concerned, 4 of Bundy’s puppies are now strong and doing well. We do still have one little boy that we are concerned about, but he is showing definite signs of improvement and we are hoping that his upward trend continues. We have found out today that the 5 pups that Bundy had without intervention, went without feeding for almost 24 hours. This means that no matter what we did, their chances of survival were virtually nil. So many things have gone wrong in this situation, but one thing is for sure. breeding is best left to registered breeders, with the health and welfare of their breed at heart. I am not one of those rescuers who is against dog breeding, far from it. I personally know professional, responsible breeders who have the means and the knowledge to achieve excellent outcomes. Those who don’t breed for profit, those that breed physically and mentally healthy pups. Yes, there is a greater price tag on a well bred pup but when genetics can be guaranteed, when known health issues can be eliminated and where well researched homes are waiting, this is a far more responsible than someone getting a dog, advertising on Facebook for a mate of the same breed, and letting the dice fall where they may. I know that not everyone will agree with me and that I will probably be shot down for this post but I have never, in all my years of rescue, been asked to step in when a professional breeder cannot afford basic health care for a puppy. There are options out there if an accidental mating happens so seek help early. Of course, desexing your pets will eliminate this issue all together so if you do become the owner of a puppy, start planning for desexing early. Putting just a few dollars a week aside or even asking your vet if you can start an account to transfer a few dollars into each week, and by the time your pup is of desexing age, you will have the money sitting there, ready to go. Finally, don’t believe the old it will never happen to me crap. Things do happen, when you least expect it and when they do, it can be a case of life and death - Sam See more

15.01.2022 Foster carer needed for 6 week old baby, Lucas, who has come into our care unexpectedly this morning. As Lucas is still a baby, he needs somewhere safe and lovi...ng to stay, until he is old enough to be adopted. Lucas is not allowed to go out in public, he needs to stay at home as he is too young to be fully vaccinated and parvo is starting to rear its ugly head around many parts of Australia. Lucas is currently in Kingaroy and will need to be collected from here. If you have had parvo on your property at any point, please do not apply. - Sam :) See more

10.01.2022 The week between Christmas and New year is a strange one. We tend to reflect on what we have done during the year and ponder how we can make the next year an ev...en better one. Often, we evaluate the choices we have made and consider how our lives would be different or have been impacted by our responses to what life has thrown at us. Usually, the approach to the new year is filled with optimistic thoughts of how to improve our lives, be it on a physical, mental, or spiritual level. Despite the best of intentions, New Year’s resolutions often fall by the wayside, especially if they are too hard or don’t give you the personal fulfilment that you are searching for. This year, for those of you who are still deciding how to make 2021 your best year ever, I would like you to consider helping out KPR. Whether you have some time of a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning to help out at the hub (in Kingaroy), can commit to becoming part of the KPR foster family by opening your heart or home to a KPR kid until we can find them a forever home, whether you can make a regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly tax-deductible donation or whether you can resolve to share our posts more, everyone can make a difference in 2021. After a difficult, busy, weird 2020, we are all hoping and praying that the new year will bring lots of positivity and love. Please help us make 2021 the Year of the KPR kid! Sam See more

04.01.2022 *** ON HOLD *** Oh World Are you ready for this news ? After two unsuccessful adoptions and through no fault of his own, Little Busta is back in care and hu...nting for his Christmas Miracle. This amazing little boy was inundated with applications previously and we are just gutted that we got things wrong. Busta does get stressed if left alone and we were very clear that future owners could accommodate this. Adoption 1 involved being left alone for long periods despite this and resulted in some unacceptable destruction of outdoor cushions etc. Please note .. we have not witnessed this behaviour since his return from his first adoption. Adoption 2 was perfect but sadly the resident dog just does not like Busta and things have really reached the point of no return. Busta and his family have really tried but his lovely owners know that having him afraid and hiding is not the life he deserves and we do thank them for that. So we go again .. and this time it will be perfect we promise This little man’s smile and total love of life could light up even the greyest of days. Our very special little ray of sunshine Busta. Busta is a very big personality on very short legs. He is a cheeky, loving little goofball with more energy than his size suggests. Those legs have no issues keeping up with his foster momma on runs and walks he is a strong little nugget and does still pull a little with excitement. We do believe from his behaviour that he may have been part of a busy family he stops and quietly tilts his head when he hears children playing outside and he loved the business of his second family. He loves busy, he loves company and he likes other dogs very much not so much cats (nope no kitty cats Please and Thank You). He is submissive but a whirlwind in play and this may just be too much all day for some dogs. Others would love it. Due to his last experience we would love him to experience the joy of being an only dog .. so he can decompress and just be loved , but for the perfect family this is not essential He adores to investigate the garden and is happy to potter around with his humans. His breed is a wonderful mix of the unknown .. but we would guess his legs are maybe from corgi or Bassett hound topped off with some English Staffy like a little jigsaw of gorgeousness. He may be very short but he is a stocky little boy and does weigh approx. 20kg so would be classed as a medium not a small dog. We are sure with love, patience and time it will settle but ideally a home where someone home a lot would be a dream come true. Busta is approximately 2 and a half years old, he has been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and is up to date with his flea and worm treatment. Busta’s adoption fee is $450 and he is in Foster Care at Darra. If you would like to meet him, please send us a message with LOTS of info about yourself and the lifestyle you can offer Busta. Due to COVID we are restricting the number of meet and greets so will need to choose best matches from the info provided so please give as much as you can. We do expect a lot of interest in Busta and we are all volunteers so only those successful for a meet will be contacted. Thank You for Understanding BIN0000238803153
