10.01.2022 Dear 2020. You are not a b*tch... You helped us build an inordinate amount of muscle. Grit. Resourcefulness. (We'll need it for where we're going) ... You reminded us of the importance of love and connection... The hugs we take for granted, the kisses we assume we can have tomorrow. You brought important people back into our lives when others were lost... or just left. You taught many of us how to be alone in the midst of singledom and relationship breakdowns. ... but how in being alone, we have the space to discover the quiet beauty of simple living. You opened our eyes to our previously fickle relationship with freedom. ... and now we know how to guard it with our lives, hearts and minds. 2020, you are not a b*tch. But you are a fierce teacher. 09.01.2022 With all of the expectations out there from society, old ways of being, old ways of doing, old beliefs, others opinions there is a lot of pressure. Pressue to follow these old ways, to be a certain way, to follow a certain path, to choose the safe and stable direction. But what is life without risk? What are you if you don't follow your soul, follow your heart? Who would you be if you ignored your calling? Would you feel whole? Would your whole being light up the same way? Wh...at is life without growth and change?.. Having the courage and strength to be different and to follow that path even if those around you don't believe in you. That's love. That's self love. Choosing you.. ALWAYS. Choosing what you love over being safe. Over the whispers and opinions. Taking the risks, creating expansion, of yourself, of your life. What you want, wants you back.
