21.01.2022 It was a sad day in our family on Friday. After many months of going downhill with dementia and related issues, it was finally time for my mum's beloved pup Tashi to leave us and head off on his final journey over the rainbow bridge. Tashi was a stupendously hairy Tibetan Terrier who joined the family as a gorgeous little fluffy puppy back in 2003. Yup, he made it to the amazing age of 17! Tashi was a real character - I'll always remember him bounding along joyously with ...all that hair flying out behind him! And also lying flat out on mum's lounge room rug, blending in so perfectly to the colour and texture he was almost camouflaged. He was good mates with both my Great Danes Kaya and Luna, and even showed Fletcher and Opal the ropes when they went to hang out with their Grandma as pups and beyond. They had many fun adventures together and I hope there is a happy reunion with Kaya and Luna on the other side. He adored his best kitty friend, Muffin. But most of all, he loved his mumma above all else. (even food, just! ) We miss you, you spunky little hairy man.
19.01.2022 This time last week, I felt like I had stepped into a fairytale. More accurately, a fairytail! Already excited at having driven over the state border into New South Wales (incredible in itself, and yes, I managed to get back over the border into Queensland okay ) I wound my way through rolling green hills to arrive at the most beautiful location, wedding venue Forget Me Not Weddings near Bangalow. That's right, my wonderful client Kelsea booked a wedding venue for her ...dog photography session! When I arrived, I was greeted by these two. Just as picture perfect as they look, Kelsea even had matching flower crowns made for her and the love of her life, Mietta. For two hours we explored the beautiful grounds, finally being driven to a hilltop to catch what I can only describe as epic, wedding style portraits at sunset. Just amazing! More to share from this incredible session soon.
19.01.2022 Wishing a very happy birthday to this lovely lady today! Mietta is 12 today but doesn't look a day over 3, thanks to the loving care of her devoted mum Kelsea. I hope you both have a wonderful day!
17.01.2022 Reckon this could be a good candidate for a "caption this" challenge? If you follow Woof Town you may recognise this handsome guy - it's Strider the Vizsla! He goes on regular doggy adventures with dog walker extraordinaire (and my sometime assistant) Mads. I just love the photos take she takes of her adventure buddies having fun out and about, so when Strider's parents booked him in for a photo session with me, I was SO excited to work with this fun-loving fella! It took a... total of 4 reschedules due to various inclement weather forecasts and a car accident closing the road to Bribie Island (on a perfect day of course) but FINALLY we got a beautiful clear summer's day for our session! Totally worth the wait. Strider ran, played, fetched, swam, ran, splashed, posed and then ran some more - and I captured it all in a gorgeous set of images that I can't wait to show his owners! 11.01.2022 Our new little guy Enzo is turning out to be quite the perfect model! I snapped this yesterday afternoon on one of our driveway walks. He'd just finished carrying a very special stick halfway up the driveway and had stopped for a chew. One of the good things about the lack of rain at the moment - the colour scheme of dead leaves and grass suits him just fine.
05.01.2022 Last Friday I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with these two distinguished old gentleman and their mum Laura, as we explored the forest and marvelled at the beautiful golden afternoon light we'd managed to score. Best buddies Oscar the Groodle and Fionn the Wolfhound are 10 and nearly 10 respectively, so most of our explorations were quiet and leisurely, as they padded around the forest floor and wandered slowly up and down the dirt tracks. I just love how the...se boys are so perfectly matched in colour, with completely different coat textures. What a stunning pair they make! And you can tell instantly they really love each other's company. I hope you love your sneak peek, Laura. I can't wait to show you the rest, it was a hard choice deciding which one to post!
04.01.2022 In my pre-session questionnaire I have a series of questions about image styles that allows clients to let me know what type of image is most important to them, so I can concentrate on shooting what they love. When I read Anne's responses I couldn't help but laugh, and also feel like this was going to be a super fun session! Out of all the image styles (classic portraits, pack shots, people and pets etc) had been marked as "only if there's time". But one image style had been ...marked "Top Priority" - looking at the images below, can you guess which image style that was? With two action superstars (even though Anne thinks she only has one) at the beach, there was no shortage of opportunities to capture action - lots and LOTS of action! Running along the beach, fetching toys from the surf, jumping logs - Leala and Twist both presented lots of opportunities for me to capture them doing what they love best. I heard that Anne ended up with two VERY tired young ladies after the session. Not surprising! Hope you like your sneak peeks Anne - there's plenty more where they came from!
