The prawns and fish therefore need to be chock-a-block with antibiotics. A lot of seafood imported from Asia was grown in aquaculture environments such as ponds, and their quality depended on clean water that was sometimes not available, while rigorous standards applied to Australian exports were not applied to imports. It’s one set of rules for our poor exporters going out; and another rule entirely for importers that compete against them coming in.
