16.01.2022 REMINDER: PYJAMA DAY Now that we are all back at school, let's celebrate and commemorate the amazing work we all did during remote learning by showing off our best and most loved pyjamas from during that time. We all had days when we were learning and teaching from home where we either stayed in our PJ's for too long... or even all day! So, let's get those PJ's out one more time and enjoy a cozy, warm day at school in our PJ's.... Join the teachers and staff on Friday 5 June for one big Pyjama Day!We know you would all like to wear your slippers too, but to make sure we can still play outside and stay safe, please make sure you wear enclosed shoes to school such as joggers/runners.Also remember that it is cold outside so a jacket and/or jumper will still be needed. This is not a fundraiser, so you don't need to bring a gold coin donation. Just wear your pyjamas for the day (and maybe your dressing gown!). We can't wait to see you all TOMORROW in your pyjamas! Miss Anna, Mr Staples, Miss Martin and the seniors

13.01.2022 Meeting Place Art with Year 3/4 This art activity is based on building a ‘meeting place’ using natural materials. It involves working with natural objects to create a shared meeting place using the elements of balance, number, pattern and space. To move forward with Reconciliation, we must all do our bit and join in together, as with making the meeting place work, all pieces have a place and work together to make the whole. ... 01.01.2022 We are celebrating Reconciliation Week. National Reconciliation Week occurs each year from 27 May marking two significant events in our history: 27 May 1967 saw more than 90% of Australians vote to allow the Commonwealth to make laws for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and include them in the national census. 3 June is Mabo Day - On this day in 1992, the High Court of Australia delivered its landmark Mabo decision which overturned the notion of ‘terra nulli...us’ and legally recognised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ connection to their country, a connection that existed prior to colonisation and continues today. This recognition paved the way for the Native Title system. Each day, a year group will be sharing their own Acknowledgement of Country. Today is year 1/2's acknowledgement. We say thank you to the Ngunnawal people. We work and play on Ngunnawal land. Thank you for our grass, playground, school, knowledge, trees and sun. We promise to look after the CDS land by caring for the plants and animals. Artwork credit: artark.com.au
