20.01.2022 Montague Island will reopen from tomorrow with National Parks making a few changes to the Montague Island Tours: * all tour participants must be 5 years and above. * The lighthouse will be excluded from all tours during COVID-19 tours will be kept ‘open air’ to avoid entering confined spaces.... We have a Montague Island Tour and Snorkelling with the Seals running Tomorrow from 12:45pm.

18.01.2022 What a phenomenal day! Had a late bite on the bluefin today, hooking up to 3 jumbo fish just before 3:00pm, but unfortunately losing 1 fish on the first run. An hour or so in, it became apparent that these were no ordinary fish. At 4 hours and well into dark we finally managed to land the smaller of the two fish, weighing in at a whopping 148kg! The larger of the fish however just didn't want to budge. At 5 hours we marked the fish at 20m but then suddenly It did a big run and was bitten off by a shark. After such a long battle it was a bit devastating, but I think we can all say that we're absolutely over the moon to have managed to land such an amazing fish out of the 3. This fish was also tagged & we look forward to finding out its story and sharing it with you.

15.01.2022 Had a great past couple of days out at the rock, now that the kings have thickened up. Fish have been averaging around 70cm, with the odd bigger fish thrown amongst them too. The water out at the island is now up to 20’c and super clear - perfect for snorkelling with the seals!

11.01.2022 Made the most of the good weather forecast yesterday and decided to go drop a few lines out deep in search for some tasty critters.

09.01.2022 After some very average weather we managed to sneak in a charter today and had some good fishing in close with well over 30 snapper and a gummy shark around the 17kg mark plus a bunch of other reef fish Unfortunately the weather looks very bad again till late next week once again Fingers crossed for calm seas and good fishing again

08.01.2022 The fishing lately has been pretty tough going, however a few of the deeper reefs have proven to be a bit more successful. The water visibility out at Montague is also looking a lot better, making it perfect for swimming with the seals and hopefully a sign of better fishing to come. Still plenty of migrating humpback whales and large pods of dolphins making a show on our whale watching tours.

07.01.2022 Warm water pushing down the coast had us seeing some pretty unusual creatures this week including devil rays & sunfish! Unfortunately the bluefin have been playing a bit hard to get. We hooked up to a few nice fin throughout the week, but unluckily pulled the hooks on all of them. A few solid albacore still made for some great fun. Hopefully the tuna fishing improves throughout the week once this bad weather passes.

03.01.2022 Good start to the bluefin season today with a 5 way hook up on the troll. We ended up landing 4 of the fish of around 40-50kg. Lets hope the fish continue to thicken in numbers and that the weather allows more opportunities to chase them!
