While we can appreciate the convenience, it’s actually quite impractical for us - mainly technology wise. Q: What are your prices? A: Usually Adults $9.50 Concession $7.50 Children under 3 FREE - for TWO movies. Retro movies are usually $7.50 all ages. Prices may vary for special events and will be well advertised accordingly. We have summer and winter hours. Q: Can we bring our own food? A: Please, no. To keep our gate prices low we rely on canteen sales. Most of our tickets sales go back to the studios - that's how movies are financed. You'll find our canteen prices are surprisingly low and we offer a great range. We offer some GF items, but we do except those with genuine food allergies. Q: Do you offer camping? A: No, however there are caravan parks and motels. Some are within walking distance, or a short drive away. Q: Do we have to book? A: No, we have plenty of room for everyone. We try to open 1/2 - 1 hour before the movie starts. If there is a traffic queue please keep as close to the side of the road as possible. This will help the general flow of traffic. Q: Do you offer gift vouchers? A: Yes we do. 22.01.2022 Under normal circumstances we would be seeing lots of new and familiar faces from near and far over the Easter week-end, but we hope that you're all staying safe and keeping well during these trying times. We haven't had this many week-ends off from showing pictures since we were kids, and are using the time well to ensure that we are as ready as we can be when life starts to return to normal. 21.01.2022 Happy St. Patrick's Day and Happy Birthday to the Tors Drive-in, which opened on this day in 1966. This photo of Steve on top of the screen was taken in 1990, not long after we moved here. Not only have we made many improvements and changes to our own patch of land, but there's been much development on surrounding properties too! We've been told that it took true grit to leave our home town in our late teens and buy a drive-in. Many thought that we were mad at the time - a...nd the jury's still out on that one ;-) - but we did it, and persisted with firmer resolve as unforeseeable obstacles presented themselves. There have been challenges during our 30 year history here and we knew that there would be, but some we could not have anticipated. We are proud to have kept this fabulous mid century icon alive for new generations, and to continue to provide cultural, social, and economic benefits to the community and beyond at absolutely no cost to fellow ratepayers. From the bottom of our hearts we thank everyone who has supported this crazy dream of ours along the way, and those who continue to do so. We could not imagine a greater reward for our efforts, and it has been an honour to meet and get to know so many of you who've encouraged us along the way. 14.01.2022 UPDATE. Good morning, and we hope that this finds you all well. It's been genuinely humbling and touching to see the interest in our future re-opening. While we’ve tried to address every phone call and query, we apologise for any that we may have missed, and/or on Facebook or otherwise as we are very much hands on with our other business interests, and have been kept busy with repairing and maintenance tasks while closed.... Every cinema operates under its’ own particular circumstances and while many have re-opened or very soon will, we regretfully advise that we won’t be at this stage. Before we bring back movies under the stars to this region, there are a number of issues that need to be negotiated for us to move forward many of which are beyond our control in terms of movie availability, restrictions and viability. For these same reasons, we can't provide a timeframe for re-opening yet, and we can honestly say that this situation is more frustrating for us than it is for anyone else. We thank you for your patience in anticipation. We are, as always, positive and hopeful that we’ll be seeing your smiling faces sooner, rather than later, so please stay tuned to this page for further updates. 08.01.2022 Hi everyone, Peter Rabbit 2 was scheduled to start screening here from 20th March for 2 weeks, however Sony informed us a few days ago that they have held back the release of that film until September. Therefore we have decided to close for a couple of weeks to get some much needed maintenance work done before the school holidays. This was something we had planned to do earlier in the year, but instead had repeated programming due to incessant rain, to give everyone a chan...ce to see the movies they wanted to see. There’s always a lot to do, so we’ll be getting stuck in to ensure that the Tors is ready to entertain you for the upcoming Easter holidays. 02.01.2022 Good morning everyone. Yesterday afternoon one of our local photographers, Sandra Parrish, paid us a visit and took these gorgeous shots of the drive-in. Thank you Sandra, for letting us share them with our followers. While we've been closed Steve has been keeping busy with lots of projects to keep our spirits up. After all, this was originally a hobby of his that started in his family's backyard. Some things never change! ;-) The "Tors" letters which are now up in th...e foyer/canteen area were originally on the front gate, and were hand cut by the late, great Harry Bucklar. Months ago every speaker was replaced/repaired, and rewired with both sound and lights in anticipation of re-opening one day. We've had a few private movie nights to ensure that the gear is all kicking over nicely too. We always have a project - or 50 (!) - in the pipeline and hope that we can continue to do what we love, and will see you all again soon. There have been some recent and positive discussions with council, so we haven't given up yet. Thank you for your overwhelming support during this ordeal, and to those who've had our back and have gone in to bat for us. It's truly appreciated, and we'll never forget it. This is a wonderful community and region, and we hope that we can all move forward soon and light up our big screens again. :-)
