24.01.2022 I'm very excited that the Queensland Music Festival have once again invited me to act as Musical Director, this time for their 20th anniversary signature community engagement project in Mt Isa. I'll be arranging for a huge array of ensembles - choirs of all sorts, string ensembles, brass bands, rock bands and a full orchestra, and revisiting the wonderful music written by John Rodgers for previous QMF events in the Isa. QMF always pull out all stops to present all the local talent they can find in a full professional setting - great fun. I will have my nose to the arranging grindstone until the performance in late July.

15.01.2022 Thanks to all of you who have liked my page, and a shout out to Greg Lyon https://www.facebook.com/greg.lyon.716 for jumping in feet first with a couple of horn arrangements for his fabulous Ray Charles tribute. Be sure to catch Greg's show when it comes to a venue near you!

11.01.2022 Making lead sheets or scores from audio tracks or from sheet music, transcription of songs, solos or ensembles. Private message me for a quote.

10.01.2022 Here's a transcription I did a while back - Bill Charlap, Peter Washington and Kenny Washington playing as fast as I've ever heard and nailing it. This is one chorus and a bit of Bill's solo. The song is "My Shining Hour".

01.01.2022 JMI (Jazz Music Institute) have just published the first of my series of articles on blues phraseology and its application in jazz and bebop. You can check it out here if you're interested: http://www.jazz.qld.edu.au//jmi-blog-blues-phraseology-pa/ That's me and JMI graduate Jake Bristow in the pic.
