17.01.2022 A while ago when I came up with the name Chauffeur So Good, (a very good name by the way!) I had to find a business name that was original, not already registered and unique to the industry as well as having a bit of humour and describing what it is/does was tough, I also had to search that the domain and socials were available. I discovered afterwards that the username was already in use on Instagram by someone in the UK. I could've used a different handle or put an undersc...ore in it or something but I wanted it to be simple and match the FB handle, so I took a chance on good faith after I noticed the account had only a few followers and posted once a long time ago. Luckily I've had many years of stalking ex-girlfriends current boyfriends on Facebook so I knew how to track the owner down! It wasn't hard, his name was there and it led me to a page for his other travel company and his business was no longer operating under that name. I was bracing myself for some greedy person knowing I wanted it and he might try to get me to pay big money for it (I've heard about people who buy domains and sell them to those who want them for a stupid price) so I wrote him a nice message, I avoided the X-Factor contestant sob story but I did say it'd be nice if I could use it for the new business. He was very kind and said he'd forgotten he had the account and that he'd delete it so I can have it. After a little exchange, I wanted to send him a thank you gift but he insisted not to. Apparently deleting an instagram account means he had to not log in again for a month and it would then be back on the market. I would open Instagram and attempt to set it up but the username wasn't available, I've been trying for a while and it was getting to the point I'd try a different name, but eventually it did and with that, I don't have to change my business cards I printed in advance! Phew! Just thought I'd share with you a really tiny insignificant feel good story that won't mean anything to anyone but me. It's nice to know there are nice people in the world and sometimes you've just got to ask nicely and they'll be there to help. Chauffeur So Good is now on Instagram @chauffeursogood --- Give it a follow if you like and next time you ride with me, tag it in with #chauffeursogood, I'm also excited to say it is listed as a Google business now. If you have used my service and care to leave a review, please go to google and do that. I have had some nice reviews on FB, but if I can get reviewed on Google I am told it will push my business up higher when people search for such a service. That'd be appreciated. Thanks! See more
