22.01.2022 Came off Carnival Spirit last Tuesday after 4 night roundtrip Sydney to Morton Island. It is the third largest sand island in the world and together with Fraser Island forms the largest sand structure in the world. Morton Island's highest point is Mt Tempest (named by Matthew Flinders) is, at 280 metres reputedly the highest stabilised coastal sandhill in the world. Morton Island is only a 75 minute ferry ride from Brisbane. A Natural Park, it is popular for four wheel driving, camping, fishing, whale and dolphin watching as well as diving and bushwalking. The ocean coast (east) features Tangalooma Resort. Very impressive - endless activities, family friendly, ultra clean, safe and friendly. Crystal clear water. Highly recommended and congratulations to Carnival Cruise Lines for making it a port of call.

04.01.2022 The Boulevard Hotel, 90 William Street Sydney, was built in 1972 and featured a luxury swimming pool on the 24th floor. The rich and famous were frequent visito...rs to the hotel, including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jnr, Cliff Richard, Mohammed Ali, not the Beatles, Kurt Russel and Liza Minelli. Wow that's an A list! 04.01.2022 Carnival Sprit is described as the Fun Ship. The staff and amenities deliver. Great for families and kids. Lots of groups - girls on hen party’s, young guys with mates. Good music, great comedy every evening, loads (shovel size) of food, lots of alcohol (leaves a big bill). Eating in the Bistro and the Empire dining room is included in the fare but pay extra for the Nouvelle and Japanese restaurants. Service vg, presentation vg, food is mass produced and even in upmarket private restaurant leaves something to be desired. Decor throughout is in your face - but you get used to it. Cabins are ample size, clean (and bathrooms too), lots of coat hangers (always a good sign), plenty of storage space, comfortable beds and pillows, dated furniture. Overall, for what you pay you get a good deal (except for your bar bill).
