09.01.2022 DUH! Made a cake of myself this afternoon while making a Basque Cheesecake. This cake rises like a soufflé while baking so the side of the tin needs to be lined at least 10cm taller than the rim. Ooh that’s different, I thought to myself. Was then so focussed on the mechanics of how to do this, first, tried to sticky tape the ends of the baking paper...nup; then tried stapling the ends...messy. Then ding! why not spray the sides of the tin with oil ... like n-o-r-m-a-l ... ouch, that stung. Oh how we sometimes get stumped and discomforted when faced with change, however small. Yet quite often it only takes some lateral thinking or just taking a second look

Two hours after a friendly tug of war discussion with Linda VL about who should make and deliver the Sourdough starter, a neighbour rang out of the blue to ask if I’d like to bake some bread as she had some spare sd starter ... life’s a charm sometimes ...
