20.01.2022 We are so lucky to still have access to fresh, green feed. We are situated in an area that has a marked wet and dry season. Usually by this time grass is dying off or has died off. We have planned grazed this paddock and it loves it! This paddock has been rested for 39 days and the grass is recovering remarkably well helped by a wetter than normal winter....we’ve had 7 mls!! 02.01.2022 We do not spray for pest and/or disease. This is a hoverfly. A beneficial pollinator. If we spray for pests we kill beneficial insects. Without some level of pest population you cannot sustain an appropriate level of pest predators. I have watched this process in detail repeatedly over the lst 6 months. Bok Choy that was riddled with cabbage caterpillars are now bountiful and healthy with NO damage. Our syntropic rows now support a pair of kingfishers who live there permanently! The bird life returning to our farm is spectacular and very rewarding. Everything needs a balance.
