23.01.2022 Trying to stay focused during the quietest time Ive seen since starting CMC...... Covid 19 officially sucks. So to keep occupied whilst I cant seem to get to sleep - Heres a throwback to a a couple of years ago down at Newport, one of my favourite places to work as I get to gawk at all the train stuff. This is an old NAM class sleeper car that has now been repurposed into a memorial at Violet Town in northern Victoria at the site of a terrible railway accident in Februar...y 1969, which resulted in the loss of nine lives and many injuries. The people of Violet Town rushed to the scene and armed with axes or whatever they could, smashed windows and doors and a great many more people survived through their brave efforts as a fire caused by spilled diesel engulfed the train carriages. The two S Class Blue and Gold locomotives, S314 and S316 were scrapped as the cost of rebuilding was 25% more than the cost of the new X class diesels that were under construction in Sydney.

21.01.2022 Used our container skates today to shift a 40ft container out of a small factory - its full of books and crane manuals - sing out if your looking for old manuals or parts catalogues

20.01.2022 With the current Covid 19 situation unfolding, the installation of the mobile sterilisation unit at the Austin Hospital was a major project for us. We initially were tasked with placing the buildings in the basement of the hospital at a radius of more than 50m from the nearest spot a crane would fit ! We dont have a 500t mobile crane just yet, but we did speak with those persons who do and even though we didnt go ahead with this option, it certainly was explored and presented to our client. We looked at some other options and we were glad to assist our client find an alternative installation location. The Corona Virus testing centre was then placed where the modular building was going to be placed, requiring last minute changes to our planning - No Problems

20.01.2022 The successful installation of the CSSD module at Bundoora on Sunday - Great Job Team :)

16.01.2022 Back in the day - dual lifting Tamper at Dynon Rd - around 2006?

16.01.2022 With the 15t up at another yard, and a couple of things beyond the capacity of our fork, it was time to fire up #1008. Living and breathing Australian History

14.01.2022 Anyone have any in gauge freight needing transport to Brisbane next week ? Message me ASAP - four empty drop decks with ramps dashing up to Underwood first thing on Wednesday the 15th and trying to reduce costs for clients return load. Thanks :)

13.01.2022 Anyone holding any old pictures of cranes working in and around Chelsea? in the first pic, the shop on the left was Creans Bakery and the boat is being lifted onto the old Gayles Marine awning on the corner of Bank St and Nepean Hwy almost opposite Edithvale station. The second pic is pretty self explanatory. Both pictures more than likely older than me. Share them if youve got them please.... Photos lifted from Chelsea Historical Society and City of Kingston websites. See more

12.01.2022 We purchased another Franna today - so we now have the 8/10t, 15t, 20t, 25tSL, the 200t Liebherr A/T and a wide range of other jacking and skating gear - plus both container forks with a range of suitable ramps as well a number of rough terrain forklifts all available and all within arms reach. We also have access to the states largest Heavy Haulage equipment - along with whom I consider the best tilt tray fella in the business. Nothing is too big a problem - we just find w...ays to get your job done safely and efficiently. I still have the same philosophy for the business - we want to work with our all of our clients so they just have to make one phone call - there are some changes in the wind with rebranding some of our equipment and business name etc But the general philosophy remains exactly the same. Covid 19 has had a massive effect on so many people and we recently sold our Kobelco RK 160-2 as we were finding less of our clients were able to utilise it to achieve positive outcomes for them. We believe the 15t Franna with its narrower width and shorter overall length will compliment the 20t and 25tSL Frannas - a quick removal of the previous owners stickers, an as always enjoyable visit to VicRoads for rego transfers and a couple of new tyres early next week and itll be ready and available along with all of the above equipment to give our clients the best options available. As with many of the other crane companies in and around town and beyond, we all know who has the best equipment for the job and if we believe one of our fellow crane owners has an item of equipment available that best suits your needs, we will happily discuss a positive outcome for you - it may not matter to you if the crane is orange, purple, pink, yellow and black or blue with white stripes, it will be the most suitable machine for your job. With more and more of our work being in hospital environments, we are strictly adhering to all current advice from the authorities and whilst it may not be business as usual, we are working with the various health departments across the country to continue to provide essential services to our clients as needed. Stay safe everyone - lets smash this Corona thing out of our lives as quickly as possible!

12.01.2022 Nice to be out and about today

12.01.2022 CMC was proud to be tasked with the relocation of a mobile sterilisation modular building last weekend. After installing this unit at North Park Private Hospital last August, it was time for the demobilisation. Great client to work with Great work team

11.01.2022 Three months of planning - stage one went off perfectly today - load three modules of a portable sterilisation unit onto trucks in Underwood Qld for the trip to Melbourne for a weekend installation - thanks to all those who helped with cranes, trucks and most importantly my kids back home

09.01.2022 That’s a wrap for this job - who needs it next ?

04.01.2022 On behalf of all of the team here at CMC, we would like to shout out a big 2019 thanks to all of our customers and clients, or as we like to call them - our friends. What a year 2019 was. It started out with lots of variety, crane movements here and there, a couple of factory relocations, a new client in the medical industry - all was looking sweet Fast forward to the end of August and the year threw a spanner in the works when our number one chef and bottle washer took an... unfortunate tumble and smashed the top of his tibia into numerous pieces - a perfect example of why we should always practice our WH&S functions - even at home! All sorts of mobility scooters, wheelchairs and crutches have been part of the landscape since September - but back in the saddle and ready for 2020 to come at us Merry Christmas one and all - stay safe and much love to all those near and dear to you

02.01.2022 Sunset tonight

01.01.2022 Back at Patterson Lakes Today for Luxabode - thanks Angelo

01.01.2022 Our company has taken all the required and recommended Govt steps to move forward with COVID-19. For the safety of all of us - we hope you are also doing so. Today after thoroughly sterilising this crane before use, at a moment of no hook movement, I spied this little guy not respecting my social distancing requirements... Not happy birdie
