10.01.2022 Garden Fun with Maija at Cheltenham Community Centre provided 13 willing participants and and their adult companions with a wondrous glimpse into the world of a Community Garden! From potting to petal paint, and purple carrots to lamb's ears and a delicious broccoli snack, these visitors to Maija's Garden were kept very busy and they all left with a 'show bag' full of samples, enough to fill the void left by the absence of this year's Royal Adelaide Show. Much was learnt, fun was abundant and hopefully inspired, new gardeners were generated!
10.01.2022 It's National Volunteer Week and a time to focus our attention on the wonderful contribution made by our Cheltenham Community Centre Volunteers and all Volunteers across the City of Charles Sturt! Life in our Centres would simply not be the same without you! Thanks, stay safe and see you soon!
08.01.2022 To commemorate National Reconciliation Week (27 May - 3 June) we chatted with Major "Moogy" Sumner, a Ngarrindjeri elder, about the importance of Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week, his connection to the river and why we must continue to look after each other. I hope, not just for 2020, but I hope it goes beyond that Reconciling with each other, reconciling with your next door neighbour (and) look(ing) after each other every day. https://www.charlessturt.sa.gov.au//national-reconciliatio Tags: Reconciliation Australia Reconciliation South Australia #NRW2020 #InthisTogether

07.01.2022 National Reconciliation Week 2020: 27 May 3 June We would like to acknowledge that the land we on gather on, is the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their Country. We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today. #NRW2020 #InThisTogether2020
