24.01.2022 Hi We are currently cleaning our oat seed and will have some available to sell.

24.01.2022 Tedding some grass that will hopefully dry to hay!

23.01.2022 Hello all! For those who have been interested in our spelt, we are still trying to refine our cleaning, dehulling and milling process. We have managed to (ineff...iciently!) dehull some spelt and mill it so we could try some spelt bread. We loved the taste, and due to its beneficial nutritional advantages, it remains a food source we are determined to process. We thought we'd share a photo of the loaf of spelt bread baked for us by Melissa of Clifton Farms. Thanks to her excellence at baking bread, it was VERY delicious. The saying 'Where there's a will, there's a way' certainly proves true in this case, where overcoming the difficulties of processing the spelt is well worth it when you get to taste the end results! More updates to come later! See more

22.01.2022 We're getting ready to harvest some chemical free oats, and were just wondering if there's enough interest in oaten straw to bale the straw afterwards. If you're interested, please, let us know! We'll be charging $8 a bale pick up, or delivery can be arranged at extra cost. Chemical free squares.

20.01.2022 Been mountain climbing with the tractor and mulcher. Cleaning up ready for the fire season. The mulcher chops it up so it breaks down quickly leaving little residue to burn.

20.01.2022 We have a boom spray dedicated to spraying organic sprays. It has been cleaned with boom and tank cleaner and repaired ready to spray some trace elements.

20.01.2022 Spreading some manure for organic dairy farm.

19.01.2022 Planting trees Buckland

19.01.2022 We were looking for a second tractor for hay . Cameron at Southern Machinery had one ready when we needed it. Hopefully as reliable as the big blue one.

19.01.2022 Going round in circles now! Daniel Pullen mounding beds. Looks great.

16.01.2022 New Season Top quality chemical free hay, no weeds, very soft and palatable. Suitable for horses, sheep and small animals. $12 a bale, delivery can be arranged at extra cost.

13.01.2022 We are currently looking for land to lease to sow this season's grain crops, our preference is for the Glen Huon region, but we are willing to look at other areas should there be any available. We would provide the fertilizer, seed, and all labour required to sow and reap the crop. We are able to pay a yearly rate, providing you with an income while we improve your land.

13.01.2022 Spreading some gypsum today. Hoping that will improve the soil structure.

13.01.2022 Planting tree seeds at Buckland yesterday

12.01.2022 Hi Hope you are all well and keeping dry. I got to try out my new moulboard plough before the rain. Planted some more spelt. Felt like i was going back in time with this method of ploughing which has survived the the changes to farming over the centuries. Still have a lot to learn about the setup of this machine. A couple of passes with the speed disks resulted in a fairly smooth finish.

11.01.2022 Line 1 This is the best seed from seed cleaner. Clean fat chemical free oats. Good for sowing or animal food. We can bag in 25kg bags and cost is $45/bag. Please call ahead of time for bagged orders. We are currently doing a germination test to determine germinationrates. Aproximately 500 kg avaliable at this stage.

10.01.2022 Line 2 Smaller sized oats. Small weed seeds. Good for animal food or seeding. Chemical free oats avaliable in 25kg bags $35/ bag. Aproximately 200kg avaliable at this stage.

09.01.2022 An update on our spelt. Apart from the birds taking the seeds, one end flooded and now cracks in the ground from being so dry it's not looking too bad. We spread some clover to fill in the gaps where the birds took the seed.

08.01.2022 Mowing some grass for silage today. Got it cut down in record time with all the mowers on the job.

05.01.2022 Line 3 Straws, hulls, oats and vetch pods. Good for animal feed. 25kg bags for $25. Aproximately 100kg avaliable

05.01.2022 Hi all. Hope you are well. We have started preparing some paddocks for this years grain growing. Most of the planting at this stage will be green manure crops which will be turned back into the soil. We have planted some peas and also some lupins which should hopefully be sprouting out of the ground soon.

04.01.2022 Our peas are starting to pop through. Good time to be a pea growing with the nice rain around lately.

03.01.2022 Here are some photos of the progress of our buckwheat, which has really shot up in the last week. Interestingly, it is not actually in the wheat family, but it ...a member of the rhubarb family. (Its stalks are really very similar to rhubarb in appearance.) Apparently, it only takes 10 weeks from planting to seeding, according to The Organic Grain Grower, a book I have found to be a great source of knowledge, and a good story of someone overcoming difficulties. 01.01.2022 Good morning from the paddock. Will have spent 24hrs in the tractor getting this ground ready! Thanks to GPS lines are still straight. It looks like a giant pattern on the ground. Maybe farmers are working with a large sized quilt pattern. If a tractor is involved anything is possible!
