15.01.2022 Chickens! Great guide from the good Milkwood people -

14.01.2022 Although I’ve written and illustrated 20 plant and gardening ethnobotanical titles in the past 8 years, and some have been popular in the gardening genre, I’ve ...never had I guess a recognisable profile or been ‘popular’. I’m told it’s my lack of social media consistency and doing zero marketing but I’ve just plodded along with my research and work with plants because, Community gardening and ethnobotanical research are my priorities. I just don’t have the time for anything else. Everyone is more interested in plants and gardening these days and that’s a good thing! Anyway thank you to everyone who is supporting my work and it means I’ll have the resources to give more of my time to my community. #whencommunitygardens See more

01.01.2022 Sweet Potatoes (Ipomoea batatas) Slow growing but so worth the wait! Taking around 100 to 170 days harvest, you can plant seedlings or tubers and make sure you have plenty of drainage they hate wet feet! I grow mine in an old bathtub as the plants are rather invasive in the garden and as Im in a warm temperate zone, I can grow all year round. Check in with your zone and the best time to plant. If you are close to harvest time as per your variety, you will notice the leaves... will start yellowing. This is an indication that it is time to get dirty and dig those yummy potatoes up! Leave in full sun for a few hours to cure and remember, this is not a vegetable you should eat raw. Correspondences Health: immune system, brain function, cancer fighting, gut health, vision Possible Powers: fertility, sex, pregnancy, childbirth, love, increases, healing Deities: Aphrodite, Venus, Freya Planet: Venus Signs: Taurus Elements: Earth, Water bunches of blessings, Cheralyn
