16.01.2022 Under 12 Identification and Development Program - strictly for boys and girls born in 2010, 2011 or 2012 who are currently enrolled within a Northside Wizards B...asketball (NWB) program or competition. NWB has identified the need to invest some time in to this age bracket to improve the overall quality of our Under 12 competitions and expand the pool of potential future representative players for 2021. Our first step to achieving this involves this upcoming 6-week talent identification and development program for both boys and girls. This program will be facilitated by our most experienced and professional coaches with the specific task of upskilling the entire age bracket by exposing players to challenging drills, basketball specific concepts and higher order thinking activities. We are looking to get as many of these players as possible in this age bracket to attend, no matter their current skill level or number of terms experience. If your child is enjoying their basketball and wants to improve, they want to have bigger impact in their games, is planning on continuing next year or has aspirations of playing representative basketball, then I encourage you to enroll in this program and to attend as many of the sessions as possible. This program will be commencing NEXT WEEK so we have a very quick turnaround before we hit the court. There will be limited spots available with registrations closing on Monday 31st August. There will be no water fountain or canteen facilities available. Players should only register for one of the sessions (eg Tuesday OR Wednesday) to save spots for other families. At this stage there will be no spectators allowed in the venues due to the bio-security requirements of both Boondall and Brendale facilities. Parents will be asked to wait outside until the conclusion of each session. We apologise for this. Coach Development if you have an interest in coaching or are actively coaching a team within this age group then you are invited to attend the sessions as an assistant coach. This is to provide coaches with new skills, drills and terminology to take back to trainings to continue player development when the program is complete.
