21.01.2022 Today marks the end of reconciliation week for 2020. Every one of us has a role to play when it comes to reconciliation. As educators, we play our part by promoting respect and understanding for Australian indigenous cultures within our kindergarten programs. In doing so, we build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, histories and cultures.... For the people of Australia to be truly reconciled, as the theme for this year suggests, we must be ALL "In This Together."
18.01.2022 The stage is set, costumes are ready and the children are ready for tonights concert and graduation. We will see E group families at 6pm tonight (Thursday 28th) and ABCD group families at 6pm tomorrow night (Friday 29th). We are all looking forward to seeing you then.
17.01.2022 The City of Maribyrnong will be hosting an online family well being seminar presented by Associate Professor Peggy Kern from the University of Melbournes Graduate School of Education. The seminar will focus on supporting families through the general challenges of COVID-19 and the changes we have all had to make - including strategies for coping with school at home! Register below if you are interested in attending this event.
17.01.2022 Harmony Week celebrates Australias cultural diversity. Its about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. At Cherry Crescent Preschool we pride ourselves on being inclusive everyday. However, to show our support for this organised event we made harmony bracelets in the colour orange and discussed some of the differences and similarities between each other. These conversations are just the beginning stages to help the children show respect for others.
16.01.2022 Bunnings Maribyrnong, Sausage Sizzle. Thank you to all the staff and parents for your support. We had an amazing day on Saturday.
16.01.2022 In the words of Oprah Winfrey, it doesnt matter who you are, where you come from. The ability to triumph begins with you. Always. Aliesha and Teagan Newman are two inspirational sisters who have worked hard to perfect their athletic abilities in the areas of Australian Womens Football (AFLW) and weightlifting. Aliesha who currently plays for the Melbourne Football Club was awarded the Coates Hire AFLW goal of the year in 2018. Teagan who has opted to take on a different... sport is currently the Australian Junior Weightlifter Champion with the goal of representing Australia in the Olympic team for Tokyo! Aliesha and Teagan grew up in Braybrook and attended Cherry Crescent Preschool in the years 2000 and 2002. They then went on to attend primary school in Braybrook and Maribyrnong College. We would like to congratulate Aliesha and Teagan on their successes so far and wish both of these young women all the very best in their sporting careers. See more
12.01.2022 It is great to see all the work that the children have been completing while at home. Thanks for sharing.
12.01.2022 This might be of interest to families as an activity to do at home. Re growing your food scraps is a fun and very easy way for children to grow their own food. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/regrown-vegetable-scraps-ti
10.01.2022 Our recent annual family twilight picnic was again a great opportunity for families and children to get together and enjoy our beautiful outdoor garden area. Thank you to all the families who came and braved the cold windy weather. Entertainment was provided by local dance studio, Dance Habit. The girls were wonderful performing their routines and had the whole audience captivated. Thank you to the teachers, children and their families who allowed them to come along and show us their amazing skills. Most importantly (and what matters the most) was seeing children and their families relaxed and enjoying each others company.
08.01.2022 This is our new timetable for 2020. Please contact the kindergarten if you have any questions.
08.01.2022 The children have been busy when they returned to kinder learning more about bees and the season of Spring. This is some of their artwork.
08.01.2022 This term we are putting together some take home activity packs for families living locally to pick up during their daily walks. Learning from home can be a challenge but it can also create room for some wonderful family time and memory making. Over these past months we have been continuing to keep in contact with families staying at home and providing a play based learning program to support childrens learning and development remotely. Here is just a small sample of the wonderful memories that are being made at home during this time.

Cherry Crescent Preschool prides itself as being one of the last small traditional community run kindergartens in the area and we need your support. Come down, say hello and grab a sausage in bread for lunch :)

05.01.2022 The kids at Cherry Crescent Preschool Braybrook now have an inclusive outdoor playspace to learn and play, including an accessible multi-level playing structure.... A big thank you to Maribyrnong City Council, Safe Play Systems, and the fantastic kindergarten community for their work to create this space where everyone can feel included. Victoria is making record investments in early learning buildings and its projects like this that are helping keep our local builders and architects busy during this challenging time for us all. To learn more about our Building Blocks funding program, visit https://go.vic.gov.au/QRmO3d.
04.01.2022 We hope you have all enjoyed a restful and happy Spring break. Before the term ended the children were noticing the changes to the trees in the garden, including the buzzing of bees. This is just one of the activities that the children will be experiencing when they arrive at kinder on Monday morning. Welcome back everyone!

02.01.2022 This is our little garden patch we built over the weekend. Jack helped in building the planter and planting his strawberries. We look forward to watching it grow and picking it to eat (before the birds get it)
02.01.2022 This is our final week of kindergarten. The children are waiting to receive their gorgeous bags that they decorated themselves. In these bags are lots of memories from the year that has been. We wish you all a very safe and happy holiday and wish you well for the new year.
02.01.2022 Our wonderful friends at Bunnings Maribyrnong have again donated their time and expertise to create these gorgeous murals for our wall and entrance. A big thank you to Mel and her team for their work.
01.01.2022 This might be a great way to help your children understand and learn more about why they are restricted to being at home. Tune in at 4pm on Thursday for this special episode.
