23.01.2022 Hello Masters friends Usually at this time of the year we would be inviting teams to nominate for our 12th Annual Masters carnival. Unfortunately at this stage we are unable to do so due to Covid-19 and the fact that we are still awaiting confirmation from the NRL permitting us to hold the carnival. The next update from the NRL is due on the 1st June to see whether or not any competitions/carnivals will get the go ahead. At this stage we are still operating and planning unde...r the assumption that we will be holding the carnival to ensure if we are given the go ahead we will be ready with most of the details. The one thing that we have ruled out is the 2020 City v Country game but what we will be doing is holding a past years City v Country where we will invite players that have played before to have compete in this game. We will be also asking you that you wear your jumper that you received when you played, but more details later on that. We will bring back the City v Country in 2021 where new players will be picked as per the usual system. The other decision we have made is to not ask for sponsorship money for this year’s carnival due to recent occurrences, drought, fires and now the virus that have combined to put considerable financial stress on many of our valued long term supporters. With that in mind prize money will be reduced - to what level we do not know at this stage but we will have some form of prizes. Also if the pubs and clubs are not open or if they can't have a large crowd we will have to have a rethink on what we will do. We will keep you updated on what is happening when we get the information from the NRL but if you have any questions don’t hesitate to send us a message. We hope this finds you all as well as is possible under the current circumstances and that things will keep improving to the point that we can see you all again at Young Masters carnival in October! Cheers

20.01.2022 Another great Cherryatrics and Wifeatrics race day at Royal Randwick. Horrendous punting but lots of laughs and even a saucy live show put on by a couple sitting close by that kept the girls entertained A great annual tradition, thanks to everyone for a brilliant day and night

20.01.2022 To all of our friends in the Masters rugby league community, the Cherryatrics would like to ask RUOK? If any of you get to a point of despair or darkness during these times of isolation and uncertainty don't forget that you belong to a wonderful community and that you are not alone! Pick up the phone or reach out to someone, it is a sign of strength not weakness and a simple conversation with a friend or teammate could make a huge difference. Take care guys and girls and lo...ok after yourselves, we want to see you all back out on the field and more importantly back in the bar when this is all over! Cheers

08.01.2022 This year’s City & Country jerseys are in and look a treat! Last call for team entries as next Friday 13th is the official close date for noms. If you are looking for a fun weekend of rugby league, camaraderie and maybe even a beer or two if you’re that way inclined, and you haven’t nominated yet, then don’t delay!

06.01.2022 The completion of another wildly successful and fun Gold Coast Masters trip, the 12th year for the Cherryatrics and one in which we welcomed a host of new players into the fold. Thanks to Geoff N Del Hill for all of your organising work behind the scenes despite not coming this year, and to lethal Lee Hardy and Woolie for driving buses, organising seafood extravaganzas, representing us at the managers meetings etc etc... Already looking forward to next year!
