21.01.2022 P R O U D Just a post to say how proud I am of our team. When we took over the centre in July 2019, there was a lot of work to do & on boarding a great team is part of that. 06.01.2022 Monday afternoon we have been looking after the chickens, compost bin and worm farm! We began by going to put some food scraps in the work farm, but discovering that there was already enough food in there to keep the worms happy. So gave the guinea pigs the food that they like, and then put the rest in the compost bin. We discovered that the compost bin had too many leaves & sticks (carbon rich material) and not enough green fruit, veg and food scraps (nitrogen rich material), and had a discussion about what this does to the composting process. The children squashed some things so the critters could eat them easily. We then collected the chickens eggs, and we collected 12!
