11.01.2022 There's a reason why I usually only wear my rave outfits once then retire them... MAYBE twice after a long time of not wearing it.... It all happened around 2011 when Rise Nightclub closed down. You see I tried DMT and LSD for the first time at home which led me to this HUGE ASS spiritual awakening, it was like an insatiable hunger, I was completely obsessed. I started to practice 'self awareness' (which is one of the main teachings of Buddhist monks) and I became totally cl...ean (quit my 10 year cigarette and pot habits, quit drinking, quit MDMA, quit seeing friends, quit going out, EVERYTHING). Anyways fast-forward a couple years and I was doing a clean-out of all my old rave-wear and took a close look at the condition of my gators (fluffies). Some nights I'd danced so hard that it looked like I had shorn off/melted the entire back area behind my shoes and despite soaking them in Napisan, they were still dirty from the nightclub floor. Wow. I had no idea at the time they looked so bad! Next was the tops and shorts I wore. A lot of them were too small now (wow was I THAT skinny?!) or I had bought things that I would never actually wear, OR they had been given to me and weren't good quality. I started asking myself what image I wanted to present to the world. A more refined image, one that wasn't tacky. I wanted people to know that I had my shit together and could execute a damn great outfit. I started choosing pieces based on a colour scheme (to keep things uniform and on subject). Then I would purchase one or two wow-factor pieces in the colours that I'd chosen, and then model everything else in the outfit around that/those pieces. Downloading the photos of the products helped so I had a reference and could flick through the set of images in my album to make sure they all matched. Even going so far as using a photo editing app to cut and overlay a harness photo over the top of a bodysuit photo to make sure. (Haven't had a chance to wear the outfit I'm talking about because of the lockdown, it was supposed to be my next Touch Bass outfit and it's from Dolls Kill) Anyway, I think it's really important to practice self-awareness!!!
