25.01.2022 Well after a wet and cold couple of days the rest of this week is looking beautiful. Training is on again tomorrow through to and including Thursday from 4.30pm. See you all then. Please be on time as the track is only booked for an hour. Have a great day at school tomorrow.

23.01.2022 NOMINATIONS OPEN Athletics North Queensland is now inviting athletes who wish to represent the 2020 Regional Australia Team at... the 2020 Melanesian Championships in Fiji to apply. This team not only allows athletes to compete at an international event, but gives athletes the opportunity to learn a range of developmental and competition related knowledge that will help them grow in their athletics careers. ANQ is proud to be able to provide these opportunities to regional and remote athletes in Australia. We thank Oceania Athletics for their continued opportunity for allowing this team to compete at Oceania Athletics events. 23.01.2022 Hey Guys Hope everyone has been coping ok with the COVID isolation. I am starting up training at the Mackay ARC on WEDNESDAY 20th May at 4pm. Please bring your roller and if you wish to use a towel, that as well. I do have to book the track for the 10 people. ... We have to ensure that we have 1 person per 2 lanes to keep to social distancing. We won't be using any group equipment. We will hold off doing Long Jump and High Jump until the restrictions eased further. When this will be, I'm not sure. Those of you who have not contacted me, to advise that they will be starting with their training on Wednesday, can you please give me a call/text on 0432282182, so I can be sure of the numbers. Looking forward to getting started again

18.01.2022 MACKAY SELECTION TRIALS INFORMATION has been distributed for the 13-15 & 16-18 Boys and Girls TOUCH. Trial Date: Monday 17th February 2020 Time: 10am - ...2pm Location: Mackay Touch Association, Norris Rd, Mt Pleasant Nominations Due: 10 Feb 2020 If selected at these trials, the Capricornia trials will be held in Rockhampton on 3rd March 2020. Students should see their School Sport Coordinator or PE Teacher for further information.

18.01.2022 For those of you who grumble not being able to do this at training - look how easy it is!!

17.01.2022 For the past 7 weeks I have been coaching 2 novice athletes who wished to increase their pure speed and their 100m times. One athlete 30ys, wanted to run 13secs flat and managed to get under that shaving 1.14secs off his time from the beginning of the 7 weeks. The other a 14yo teenager wanted to get under 14secs which he did, shaving 0.88sec of his original time. They were super stoked with their efforts, as was I. They both put in the hard yards to achieve it. ... Squad training for 2021 is starting Monday 8/2. Anyone interested in joining please contact me 0432282182. (Cheryl Dixon)

16.01.2022 Well guys it has happened. The Mackay ARC has been closed down. So no more training. Anyway it’s a good time to self isolate and kill this thing DEAD!!! Those guys who would like me to write some sessions to do at home eg core exercises and strengthening exercises please text me and remember to put the email address.

BY 18 FEB 2020 An opportunity is provided for non-club students who wish to record a time. Date: 11 Feb 2020 Time: 5 - 6:30pm Location: Mackay Aquatic & Recreation Centre PLEASE NOTE: This timed trial is NOT for students who wish to better their time from a QSA meet. Information regarding 2020 Nomination Procedures for the Mackay & Capricornia Swimming Trials has been distributed through Sports Coordinators and HPE Teachers. Nomination Forms for Capricornia are available on the Capricornia School Sport Website at www.capsport.eq.edu.au The regional team will be selected from times submitted. Students may nominate their best times for selection from a QSA sanctioned event ONLY. Athletics Australia have taken the decision to cancel t...he 2020 Australian Junior (U14-U18) Track & Field Championships, which will not be re-scheduled and have postponed the 2020 Australian Senior (U20, Open and Para) Track & Field Championships to a date or dates to be determined. With the current threat of coronavirus impacting the health and welfare of Australians, Athletics Australia has today taken guidance from the Australian & State Government’s (COAG) and other health authorities.
