11.01.2022 As a PT a question I often get asked is 'how much should I eat/what should I eat/is this bad for me? And the list goes on. I usually reply with a question: What are you fitness goals? With so much information on social media and the all-knowing internet it is very easy to get overwhelmed/confused/sidetracked. ... Don't put the cart before the horse. Before you decide on your ideal weight and what you should and shouldn't be eating, ask yourself what you want to achieve for your OWN personal body goals. Yes, YOURS. What works for someone else will not necessarily work for you. If there's one thing I've learnt is that our bodies are sooooo different! Add age, genetics, ethnicity, ailments, hormones (the list goes on) it is impossible to prescribe a one size fits all formula. I urge you all to beware of those who do, those who answer in the blink of an eye about what you should be doing, how you should be eating... without probing a little deeper. Thankfully, Mother nature is truly amazing. Your body will let you know when you are at your 'ideal weight'. Unless you have alternative specific fitness goals, all I say is stay mindful, be aware, take time for meals and stop when you are full. Say no to deprivation yet everything in moderation. A 'diet' will only be effective when you make it your lifestyle. There are no quick fixes, no magic formulas, no special food that I eat to get results.
