24.01.2022 What a perfect day to meditate with your eyes open! Find a nice warm sunny spot, where you can observe a flower, plant or tree in your garden and press play. Much love, Pauline x

21.01.2022 A simple and effective meditation, using the imagery of a burning candle.

19.01.2022 As I process events of the past I withdraw from the outside world. I retreat and go into my inner world. I search for my truth and begin to find meaning. I make connections between long-ago situations and my current state. I see how much of what I've carried for so long doesn't belong to me. As I begin to find ways to let go of the pain and anger that is not mine the path in front of me gets clearer. As I start to drop what no longer serves me I begin to see and understand my... purpose. As the fog of the past lifts my future looks bright. Much love, Pauline x

19.01.2022 A couple of years ago I completed my Diploma in Holistic Counselling. What started out as study for the career change I so desperately wanted soon became an intense journey of self-discovery and healing that I so desperately needed. I learned so much about myself in those two years. I don't think I've ever cried so much, in front of other people, in my whole life - I even started taking my own boxes of tissues to class!... Two years of weekend intensives, study groups, assignments and working with volunteer clients. Learning various therapeutic techniques and gaining the skills needed to work in the field. Spending hours with my fellow students taking it in turns in being the client and the counsellor, to experience the techniques from both sides of the client-counsellor relationship. I'm so glad the course was built around experiential learning. How else would I be able to ask my clients to allow their own emotions to be seen if I hadn't let my own be seen. How else could I ask my clients to look deep within at old wounds if I hadn't done so myself. One of the units the course included was titled "Healing the Wounded Healer" which I think describes the journey I've been on perfectly. I feel so blessed to be able to share the techniques and skills I've gained with those who are ready to heal. If you're ready to take the next (or first) step in your healing journey, I'd be honoured to work with you. Much love, Pauline x

14.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone. I saw this on a friend's page and it really resonated with me as this pretty much sums up my approach to counselling - no preaching, no dishing out my opinions and no judgement. Focusing on holding space and being present.... Have a great day! Much love, Pauline x

11.01.2022 This week is National Volunteer Week. Yesterday at my regular shift at GAWS (Geelong Animal Welfare Society) I was given this little chocolate treat. It's always so nice to be thanked and know you're appreciated. ... Who could you thank and show your appreciation to today? Much love, Pauline x

11.01.2022 We often hear people talking about work-life balance. I believe finding a healthy balance means more than just knocking off on time. In the workplace it includes: ~ knowing when you need to put in some extra effort, ramp up the pace and when you can afford to slow down ~ finding work that is both stimulating for the mind and also aligns with your core values and... ~ being able to support your colleagues without disempowering them by doing too much for them. Outside of work finding balance includes: ~ making time to do the things that bring you joy ~ learning how to be there for yourself as well as others and ~ including activities that are good for your mind and soul as well as your physical body. How do you find the right balance? Much love, Pauline x

11.01.2022 Today is Mother's Day in Australia and for many it is a day filled with love and happiness. For some though, it is a day filled with sadness - ~ children grieving the mother they have lost ~ mother's mourning the loss of children gone far too soon... ~ women missing the children they were never able to have. Today can also be a day of reflection, a day of remembrance. Today I will be reflecting on my choice not to become a mother and have children of my own as well as reflecting on my relationship with my own mother. I will spend most of the day though remembering this amazing woman. Glenys Elaine Butler, who at the age of 50 took on the task of raising her first born grandchild and was instrumental in me becoming the woman I am today. Mamo, you will always have an extra special place in my heart. Happy (Grand) Mother's Day. Much love, Pauline x

05.01.2022 Before you can speak your truth you need to find your truth. Yesterday I found part of my truth. Yesterday I began the next stage of my journey, my journey of deep self-discovery, deep personal growth and deep, deep healing.... This is not going to be easy. I will need to tackle topics I avoid. I will need to look inside, into the very core of who I am. i will need to experience and sit with emotions that are not always pleasant I will need to learn to let go of long-held beliefs about how and why things were. I will need to say good-bye to things that no longer serve me. There will be lots of tears, lots of uncomfortableness, but the end result will be worth it. Before you can speak your truth you need to find your truth. Much love, Pauline x

01.01.2022 FRIDAY FUN FACT Sometimes when things aren't working the way we want them to work they end up working out better than the way we wanted them to! Follow? Prime example......... I'm often disappointed that the camera in my phone doesn't capture colours the same way my eyes see them. In this instance the camera not working the way i want it to worked out much better than i could have ever expected (photo below). Brilliant!... Life's a little bit the same. Sometimes things don't always work out the way we thought they would or wanted them to and sometimes that's a good thing. Much love, Pauline x
