19.01.2022 There is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to recording body mass, though some forms are easier to do & give a quicker reading than others - BUT does this ...make them a reliable source ??? Using a scale to measure your weight (or weight loss) can be both positive & negative For some, it can be positive reinforcement, helping them stick to their goals ; for others, it can be a painful reminder of how slow their progress is, or how the stress they are under is affecting their body physically It is almost inevitable that we all weigh ourselves at some point in our lives so, here are some tips which may help your weigh-in time be less stressful. Daily weigh-ins are not necessary & have been found to cause more negative effects than positive, but if this is your preference, ensure you weigh yourself at the same time each day. If weighing yourself weekly is more your thing ensure you do this on the same day of the week & at the same time of day, each week. Always weigh yourself on an empty stomach, mornings are usually best. Without clothing (preferable) or with the same clothes every time. We all have our own approach to weigh-in time. Whatever yours is, it should increase your confidence instead of leaving you feeling deflated. There are many factors to a healthy body than just the reading on your scale. If you are going to make getting on the scale a part of your weight management routine, then remember that all these factors also affect your body physically & can not be determined by your bathroom scales: weight fluctuates daily with water hot days, hormones, high carb intake & exercise all influence fluid levels & a full colon will also affect your scale reading Anxiety, stress & disappointment surrounding your weigh-in can lead to unhealthy choices & completely discourage. REMEMBER: that number is just a number & is likely not a true representation of where your weight is really at. The most important thing to do is to make the best decisions for your health & to just feel good! You may find that you lay down exhausted but you're mind springs to life & makes sleep an unachievable goal ... Here are a few tips which may help you get to bed, feel calm & drift off to a restful slumber so that you can wake with energy & start your new day right!
