20.01.2022 Here at Chifley Halls we celebrate How You Doin? Week. With the aim to breakdown mental health stigmas and celebrate the wonderful community we live in. Our brain is our most important organ. Just because you can't see mental health, like you may see a broken bone, doesn't mean it doesnt deserve the same attention. Spread the message - lets make 'How You Doin?' a culture, not just a week. ... #HowYouDoin? #ChifleyHalls
17.01.2022 Can confirm there are some redhot dancers amongst these Chiflians after being at last nights Toga Party! Almost 60 of our new First Year’s begin their 4th day here at Chifley Halls!! Welcome all - we’re so happy to have you here
16.01.2022 Joey Tribbiani once said - "Joey doesn't share food" . But more importantly he said - "How you doin?". This message is relevant for us here at Chifley as it's one we want to spread. Asking someone 'how you doin' opens up conversations and a pathway to offer a helping hand. ... Every now and then, it's okay to not feel 100%, so here on Chifley we wanna know - how you doin? We are encouraging all Chiflians to celebrate their unique traits, feelings and thoughts and to share these with us all. We live in a place with 100 other people who are experiencing similar things to you and me - let's celebrate that! Here is a video put together by our creative and passionate RA Sam Groom, simply to encourage conversations, positive thinking and to highlight that everyone on Chifley is here to talk and importantly listen. Welcome to 'How You Doin Week'!!! Stay tuned! #HowYouDoin

14.01.2022 Men’s Day Yesterday, the men of Chifley Halls hopped on a bus and made their way out to Hartley Valley Paintball Fireball for the inaugural Men’s Day. Even though the boys are battered and bruised, a couple of beers at the Ox soften their wounds and got the boys keen for next years event.... Thank you to Hartley Valley Paintball Fireball and B Town BBQ for having us yesterday #StormRaftersCoolRoom #ThankYouMildura
14.01.2022 HOW YOU DOIN WEEK STARTS TOMORROW keep your eyes peeled for what’s in store
13.01.2022 WHERE ARE THEY NOW??? In the lead up to the new year, we want to celebrate our Chifley Alumni who have made it the place it is today. MEET ETHAN:... CHIFLEY YEARS: I lived on Chifley for my entire time at CSU Bathurst, years 2014-2016 in both Pink and Yellow dorm. DEGREE & CAREER: During my time at CSU I studied a Bachelor of Clinical Practice (Paramedic). Since graduating from CSU, I have moved across the globe to London where I now work as a Paramedic for the London Ambulance Service. In the two years I have spent working in London I have become a fully qualified Paramedic and have enjoyed every minute of it! I think my favourite experience since graduating would be having the privilege of delivering a baby. Being able to bring a new life into the world, there's just nothing quite like it. FAVOURITE THING ABOUT CHIFLEY: I feel my time spent on Chifley were some of the best years of my life. My favourite thing about Chifley Halls was the community aspect everyone shared. Everybody is friends with one another, it doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, everybody just becomes a part of the ever growing Chifley family. CHIFLIAN ADVICE: Embrace it all, embrace every single person and every last minute, make the most of your time on Chifley. Be kind to one another and strive to better the community. The memories and friends you will gain out of it will stay with you for the rest of your life. MEMORY: Making the weekly group trip downtown to ransack the Salvos or Vinines in the hunt for a costume for the upcoming themed parties was always hilarious, some of the outfits we’d find were ridiculously horrible but somehow so amazingly fantastic at the same time. Stay tuned for more Alumni profiles and keep an eye out for these legends at our first ever Returners Weekend in 2019. #ChifleyPride
13.01.2022 WHERE ARE THEY NOW??? In the lead up to the new year, we want to celebrate our Chifley alumni who have made it the place it is today. MEET Chris Smith:... CHIFLEY YEARS: Geez, a good nudge ago now to be fair. Probably close to half ya mothers sperm count and twice your old mans bench press.. Nah from 2012-2014. DEGREE & CAREER: Studied Business and lobbed a gig in the betting industry working for UniBet. Despite the long hours, it’s cracking fun and puts hairs on your chest. FAVOURITE THING ABOUT CHIFLEY: I loved the spirit and friendship in the group. The ‘get around each other’ attitude; a place where you could lift anyone’s morale no matter what. Someone who didn’t have a good time in high school good be the most popular person in Chifley found it incredibly special. And also the fact, I drunk a load of lunatic soup (beers) with my mates for three years (probably the reason I’ve got a rig that looks about 18 hamburgers over par nowadays as well). CHIFLIAN ADVICE: It’s almost 2019 be the BEST you. Chifley is a place armed with a ute load of memories, laughter and good time; embrace it, get around it and learn from it. Ultimately what you put in, is what you get out . MEMORY: Geez I’ve got a few, some of which are actually true But nah I’ll never forget Chifley Wedding in my middle year (and my last year to be fair, few lunatics on the circuit that night as well). But my middle year I somehow managed to lock in best man for the occasion after a gruelling and tense 4 hour selection process. Honestly think I’m still half human, half pint from that night... I remember the final was between 5 of us and who ever could finish the Chifley concoction first got the chocolates. I think I pipped one of the lads by like a second and then don’t remember much after that. Pretty confident I told 3 girls I loved them that night as well (shit bloke). Good times. Stay tuned for more alumni profiles and keep an eye out for these legends at our first ever Returners Weekend in 2019. #ChifleyPride

07.01.2022 SWIMMING CARNIVAL CHAMPS!!!! Chifley Halls has taken out the inaugural Res Swimming Carnival by finishing first in the final mixed relay! Our 8 swimmers are currently being assessed to see if they aren’t sea creatures after blitzing the field. The win takes us to the lead of the current Res Cup standings, with 7 more competitions left in the year. The win came down to a lot more than just the final race and these 8 swimmers pictured. We’re very thankful for the se...a of red in the crowd that pushed the team home and the several other swimmers in earlier events constantly making the res proud. Shoutout as well to some generous timekeepers giving up their spots in the crowd to make sure the event ran smoothly!! You’re all champion cauliflowers Thank you also to the other 3 res’ for being great sports and competing in every race - this’ll be a great event for years to come. #YearOfTheCauli
06.01.2022 ~ CHIFLEY UPDATE ~ It’s been a busy start to Semester 2 on Chifley Halls - we’ve even missed our chance to update you all on our ongoings! After our first paintball Men’s Day, organisation was in full swing to create a formal evening that celebrated our wonderful residents and their contributions to Chifley and the wider university. Our inaugural Chifley Gala took place on the 31st of July and was a hit. With awards being given to students who represent our residence and ex...cel academically, on the sporting fields and as always socially, the night created a very Chifley proud feeling that hasn’t yet faded. You all looked beautiful. Congratulations to all award recipients and a HUGE thank you to our guest speakers Chris Smith and Laura Moy, our talented entertainers Brady Evans, Brigit Hides-Pearson & Sarah Evans and wonderful sponsors B Town BBQ and The Oxford Hotel for contributing to the night that was. Since then the residence has been doing their bit to practice sustainable living by participating in the annual Power Challenge run by CSU Green. With the aim to save the most power (based on average power usage rates) we are having candlelit dinners and turning off our appliances when not in use to try and move from 2nd to pip that top spot. Keep your eyes peeled for exciting things happening on our res! Res Cup updates are due as the Netball and Rugby League teams are in the process of being selected Not only that, our future Mr CSU contestants will need your support!!! And heading into last session, some exciting twists to the traditional Ladies Night and the second edition of our mental health initiative week ‘How You Doin?’ are being organised! Get keen! 01.01.2022 ~ RES CUP ~ On Saturday, Chiflians were out in numbers to try win our first ever Res Cup. We took away 3 wins overall in both netball and rugby league and also managed to defend our sprint relay title to finish the day in 2nd place! Although we fell short, spirits are high as it was clear to see how much Chifley means to our residents. The display of red, black and white and the noise coming from our supporters all day was immense - Chifley pride is strong and definitely in ...the air. Our minds are already set on next year and the prospect of bringing the title home. #WhenISayChifleyYouSayHalls #WhiteLightningStrikesTwice
