25.01.2022 More Cat Training! One Out is a little more reserved about hanging out with a fluffy tiger more than 3 times his size! Foster sister Tulip is also learning as this is her first foster dog and she is insisting he maintain the recommended 1.5 meter distance away.. She blames Covid, but we aren't so sure that's entirely true

25.01.2022 Hello out there... Helloooooooo... Ummm these hoomans keep giving us carrot sticks... seriously, I know my brother is a bit jolly but I'm just a little teeny tiny Taco. Please send help... And burgers..

24.01.2022 When Hugh heard he was going on a road trip to Tweed Heads last Thursday, he figured he might need some protection in case he was flooded by lady admirers. He hired friend of CRQ Rosey for protection as he knew it would take a lot of effort to get past her! Sorry ladies!

22.01.2022 Recently adopted Louie (now known as Little) turned 1 yesterday! He really liked his birthday cake but wasn’t so sure about this balloon.... he had to call the cat in for back up! Happy Birthday Little !!!!

22.01.2022 Goodnight and sweet dreams from ex CRQ Melody. She’s a gorgeous little girl who loves her food and drives her mumma crazy trying to keep her weight in check! It must be hard to resist that gorgeous little face though!

22.01.2022 No dogs were harmed in the making of this meme!

22.01.2022 Bubba here... Righto, what’s going on? Last time I went to the vet I lost 9 teeth. I’ve learnt to live with it and thankfully I can still eat.... Today when I got dropped off at the vet I realised I was in trouble.... what more could they possibly want? More teeth? ... Well when I woke up this afternoon, something didn’t feel right and let me tell you it wasn’t my mouth!! It was way down the other end I don’t think I’ll go back there... they just take take take, and when they do give you something it’s usually a bloody needle! Well I’m off for a nap now and hopefully when I wake up this will all have just been a bad dream. Bubba

17.01.2022 It’s a two for Tuesday today! Rosie and Ruby are hilarious, they do everything together including a synchronised scratching session! Don’t worry, they don’t have fleas - all the CRQ dogs have monthly preventatives, they’re just enjoying a good old ear scratch

16.01.2022 Being a CRQ foster dog is a really tough life.. You have to sleep the day away on the foster carers couch and then when they are rude enough to have to go to some place called "work" (which doesn't even sound fun by the tone in their voices! ) you are left with a packed lunch, enrichment toys and soft beds! Terrible! Send help immediately! ... Love Taco and Wombat (aren't we lucky to have such wonderful carers for all our precious foster babies )

16.01.2022 Chookie here... I want to share my secret to staying healthy and happy. Other than my regular vet visits, I have a monthly schedule of flea, tick and worm prevention that keeps me healthy on the inside and out! I buy mine through VetShop Australia and when we purchase preventatives through the special CRQ link, CRQ get a percentage back to help toward all the dogs care, and I can share this link with you! You’ll get some great deals and help all the other dogs as well!! S...o next time you need to purchase pet supplies, have a look at VetShop Australia - I’ll pop the link in the comments below - just click on the Chihuahua Rescue button to shop.... Happy shopping!!! Love, Chookie x

16.01.2022 We’ve started a Go Fund Me page for Lollipop who is still at the Animal Emergency Centre. We have already paid $6500 and we have been given an estimate almost twice that amount. Please donate if you can, and you can also help by sharing this post far and wide. We’ll keep updating on Lollipop’s progress as we hear more from the vets. We are hoping to have her seen by a specialist today. ... Thanks everyone https://www.gofundme.com/f/saving-lollipop-the-chihuahua

16.01.2022 Soooooon !!! We apologise for the printing delay of our very anticipated calender , we had a few last minute hold ups, but we are crossing everything that they are only about 10 days away now (or very close to that) In the mean time here is a super cute photo of ex CRQ Peach taken by Hairypants Photography during her calendar shoot to help you smile

15.01.2022 Who is coming to say HI ??? We will have some very special exclusive Xmas merchandise available, as well as our calendars and cookbook ! Can't wait to see you there! https://fb.me/e/1az45Xggi

15.01.2022 Hugh would like to have a word with all of our followers. He saw some comments on our Facebook posts over the last 24 hours that were not pleasant and certainly unwarranted. These comments implied that we were not a legit rescue, a scam in fact, and that we are also very picky with who we respond to. This makes us, and Hugh, very sad We are all volunteers, not one person working for CRQ gets paid a cent. We spend countless hours, day and night discussing plans, driving ar...ound, organising events, responding to emails and messages, keeping up with social media, talking to our vets and foster carers... the list truly goes on and on. We currently have 17 dogs in care, many of whom have health issues we are addressing, some are still recovering from surgeries, working through behavioural issues, and some are just new and at the beginning of their health care plans. We don’t currently have any dogs available for adoption... we will not rush to make people happy, for us, it’s all about the dogs. Some will be ready in time, some may be foster fails... again, that’s a great outcome for the dog and we won’t apologise for that. In the meantime, we receive hundreds of adoption applications, and each one is read and filed. We can’t possibly fulfill everyone’s wishes as we simply don’t have enough dogs! We are not a shop that takes orders for specific types and colours and ages, we pride ourselves on matching dogs to their perfect forever homes. This will always be our priority... putting the dogs needs first and foremost, and we thank and appreciate our loyal supporters who are always there for us and never complain

14.01.2022 Ex CRQ Arrow (right) has formed a gang... stay away burglars, peeping toms and serial killers, or there’ll be trouble in town!

13.01.2022 I actually know this from personal experience

12.01.2022 It’s the eve of one of the biggest days in CRQ history, and Hugh is not impressed. Can you guess what tomorrow is? Hugh is finally getting desexed!!! After months of trying to get his thyroid meds right, he’s finally in a good place to undergo surgery. Foster mum Isobel is thrilled, as Hugh likes to leave little ‘indications of his presence’ around the house which then makes the other boys in the house follow suit Hopefully this will calm everyone down a bit! ... Don’t worry ladies, he won’t be losing his good looks and boyish charm... he’ll still be the same Hugh we’ve all come to know and love, just minus a couple of parts Good luck tomorrow Hugh, and try not to get kidnapped by the nurses!!

12.01.2022 There is nothing better than the unconventional love of a dog!

12.01.2022 Ex CRQ Saskia hopes everyone is staying safe during these storms. She says it’s important to time your toilet breaks before and after the rain so you stay nice and dry. Great advice Sassy!

12.01.2022 Lollipop got in a quick walk around the footie field after yesterday's storms. She is still not allowed to over exert herself this week, so she hitched a ride in the Princess Pram while foster sisters Schmuffy and Pepper ran themselves silly. Lollipop is recovering well from her hospital stay and bout of pneumonia. She is happy and hungry, taking her meds and nebuliser. She has a follow up appointment with Dr Luke at VSS on Thursday, and hopefully we can book in a day f...or her to have surgery. Her Go Fund Me page is doing great with well over $6000 raised, but we still need to ask for your help as her treatment has already cost way more than that and there’s more to come We’ll pop a link to the site in the comments, or alternatively you can find it near the top of our Facebook page. Please give it a like, a share, and donate if you can. We are so grateful for all of you who have helped thus far https://gf.me/u/y5cjyf

11.01.2022 We can’t believe our eyes! Only two weeks ago when George came into our care, he needed to be muzzled and restrained to have his eye drops put in, he was very bitey and it was a two person job. Now with some patience and TLC, he’s just fine for foster mum Laura to put his drops in! We knew he’d get used to it, but not this quickly!

11.01.2022 Harry is confused... he thought only doggos ran around in a park chasing a ball? Who knew!!! He can’t wait to get the all clear and be able to run around again, not long to go now!

10.01.2022 Yes, that would be what I’d do!

09.01.2022 Pablo’s not sure about being so close to that much wet stuff!

09.01.2022 Pretty sure I’ve never been in charge here!

08.01.2022 Ex CRQ rascal Kobes had two very special visitors today.... Cocoa and Hugh! They travelled all the way down to Tweed Heads especially to visit Kobes and his lovely mum Dianne. Let’s hope they have their border passes to get back home!

07.01.2022 Hank has big news! He’s been adopted!!!! After a successful meet and greet yesterday, where he was a very good boy and didn’t even yell at the neighbours dog, he has found a wonderful new forever home We had some fantastic applications for Hank, and it’s never easy to select just one, but this little man had some very specific criteria and we felt that his new family can provide exactly what he needs. ... Fare thee well Hank! And we look forward to updates from your new home

05.01.2022 RAFFLE TIME When local artist Paola Satriano saw our last vet bill, she immediately raided her completed artworks in storage and donated them to us for to raise much needed funds! We are thrilled with her generosity and have quickly put a raffle together as we have a few surgeries coming up, including Lollipops specialist surgery ... With Xmas around the corner, there are 7 chances to win some beautiful pieces for yourself or for your loved ones. Tickets are $2.50 or 10 for $20 Pm the page to buy yours. Raffle will be drawn 7pm, NEXT SUNDAY, October 18th!

05.01.2022 We hope your Sunday morning is as blissful as Bella’s! She loves relaxing in the hammock, it’s hard to stay awake! She’s all booked in for a summer haircut on Thursday, so she’ll be feeling fresh and fabulous after that

04.01.2022 Lollipop is getting ready for Howloween! She has several outfit options and would love to know what you all think of this one? She’d love to see your outfits too!

04.01.2022 Snuggle bunny George had his check up yesterday and the vet thinks he is only 5-7 years old. They want him to continue with the eye drops and also have medicated baths twice weekly as his skin is a bit itchy looking. Otherwise he seems in quite good health, and he has also been showing some improvement with being handled. He’s making progress faster than we expected and it’s lovely to see

03.01.2022 The moment Hugh realised he wasn’t just visiting the vet for cuddles with his favourite nurse Lisa.... It was a big day for our little man and he’ll be all the better for it now that he’s desexed. He also has finally got a microchip now too. That’s usually something that’s done on day one, but Hugh just wasn’t in the mood for it, so we decided to wait for a surgery day to sneak it in, rather than stress him out more than necessary. Well done Hugh, you were very brave and we’re sure there will be extra treats and cuddles in the coming days!

03.01.2022 Little Toffee has been hassling mum to make her ALL the recipes in her Short & Sweet Cookbook! She's a huge fan! These beautiful high quality books make excellent gift ideas for Xmas! ... They are also provide vital fundraising for us to help pay off our ever present vet bills. So give twice this Xmas! Once to all our beautiful foster dogs and once to a dog lover you know. We still have our free gift wrapping offer available! $25 plus $3.50 postage if needed. Various pick up points around Brisbane PM the page to order

03.01.2022 Ruby is feeling so much better now that she is on medication for her heart murmur and has gotten rid of all those yucky teeth. Foster mum reports that both her and Rosie have a lot more confidence and energy than they did a few weeks ago. It’s lovely to see them improving. Ruby won’t be ready for adoption until her bestie Rosie is, and Rosie still has a few medical issues to address. Then they’ll find a forever home together, and have their happily ever after

02.01.2022 Goodnight from ex CRQ Maggie could win a gold medal for sleeping... here’s a collage her mumma made

01.01.2022 Goodnight from Hank who had a big day running around at the park and meeting new friends. He’s already learning to listen to his foster mum’s commands and ‘sit’... he sounds like a smart boy who just needs some training and a good routine to thrive
