24.01.2022 Spent the morning with a mob of little people. I survived! Early educators deserve better pay! https://t.co/TPPNuw415P

21.01.2022 AWESOME!!!!! We were on The Project! Plz give 3 MILLION cheers for Jess, who bravely told why she's walking off the job on Thursday. It's so great parents suppo...rt us, but they can't afford to pay more. It's Malcolm Turnbull's responsibility to fund early education properly. Tell him now - join our Thunderclap: po.st/HeyMalcolm

21.01.2022 Early Childhood Educators Day is a wonderful opportunity for children and families in long day care, kindergarten/preschool, family day care and occasional care... services, to acknowledge the efforts of their early childhood educators and make them feel special. So how are you going to say thank you? :) #LoveMyECE See more

20.01.2022 Sensationalism again! The only way that family is pay $910 a week for two kids in care is if they are paying full fees, because no centre is charging $182 per day! Which means A) their claiming the childcare rebate at tax time, instead of weekly or B ) both parents are not working or studying atleast 15hrs a week or C) they are not Australian citizens.

20.01.2022 It’s never easy juggling children & a career. The Mummy Guilt is definitely there. But we can rest assured that be it we work or stay home with our children, research shows the outcomes are almost the same in our children’s adulthood.

19.01.2022 Thought i'd share the survey monkey survey I just completed to get parent input in our quality improvement. (Sorry for so many screen shots, wasn't sure how to share. As the link would prompt you to complete the survey)

19.01.2022 Love this page for Preschool teaching ideas http://www.prekinders.com/

18.01.2022 #spontaneousplay #firefighters #soengaged. I had so much fun running around finding fire hoses, making fire & a fire truck

18.01.2022 This day is a wonderful opportunity to draw public attention to the important role of teachers in our local communities!

17.01.2022 We are celebrating Chinese New Year in our service this week. Today I was saying goodbye a little Chinese boy & his Grandparents in the foyer. Both Grandparents speak very little English, Grandmother points to some of the decorations & smiles. I said "Yes, Chinese New Year" & then pointed to a poster we have up which says 'Happy New Year' in Chinese writing. Grandfather then says "Ahh, Happy New Year" & bows to me, which I then returned. Both Grandparents were so happy. It makes me proud that we choose to celebrate different cultural events & that even with little English skills I was able to share this celebration with this family. "Gong Xi Fa Cai"

16.01.2022 I think this notion is ridiculous. If parents want this type of care then they can opt for Family Daycare, but even then there is usually a 6hr min of care required. I agree that this would cause such an administrative nightmare & that it really does put us back into the Babysitters Club! Long Day Care is a Education & Care service, EDUCATING children. Were are not Babysitters! Wake up & smell the sunshine Government!

16.01.2022 What a fun way to upcycle bubble wrap. Check out this fun RAINBOW FISH art project: http://coco-coccoleecolori.blogspot.it//la-scuola-e-inizia

14.01.2022 In Our centre we will be changing over to using the Early Years Daily Planner along with our programming style. This will replace our program sheet and have everything in one place. http://www.earlychildhoodaustralia.org.au//2016-early-yea/

13.01.2022 Interesting article regarding NAIDOC week crafts.

11.01.2022 Came across this video. As a new dad, it touched me. Great reminder to all parents to rethink our obsession with marks and to let children follow their calling. Nicely done #lookbeyondmarks Cadbury Bournvita

08.01.2022 We were invited this week to Connect Preschool. The kids getting ready to start school next year had fun drawing & playing with the putty & Kwik Stix. They disp...layed a range of pencil grips during a drawing activity - some very age appropriate & others more unusual. We had some great results with our specialised grips and it was great to see lots of variations in which grip helped. The kids loved trying them all out and working out which one was the best for them. See more

05.01.2022 Today I am speechless, as I realise the sheer love of a child. The ability to be inclusive, to hold no judgements, to be part of a community, and ensure that E...VERYONE gets to participate. How is it that we rip that social justice away from children as they grow older? What sort of society have we become, when by the very nature of us, we create the very issues we then fight hard for? These moments today bring a tear to my eyes. And I am so grateful to belong in an environment where all members of our community are accepted for who they are, and support one another...... through thick and thin, we are who we are...... and we are all worthy of acceptance. It is Children's Week........ and I cannot speak any louder words, than the actions of our children portray. Children's Rights are human rights. They get it - so why can't we?

05.01.2022 The RDI of calcium in the diet for children aged between 1-3yrs is only 500mg & children aged 4-8yrs is only 700-800mg. This can be achieved by not only providing milk to children, but through many calcium rich foods. The main calcium contenders are milk, yogurt, and cheese, but dairy shouldn't be the only dietary pit stop to fill up on this nutrient. Leafy greens, seafood, legumes, and fruit also contain calcium and many foods and drinks are fortified with the mineral. It... is recommended that children start weaning from bottle to sipper cup at 1yr of age. Please read the following links for more information on your child's dietary & calcium intake needs. https://www.huggies.com.au/baby-care//nutrition/milk-intake http://www.ucsfhealth.org//calcium_content_of_selected_fo/ http://kidshealth.org//pregnancy_n/feeding/no_bottles.html#

02.01.2022 After much deliberation & families requesting more personalised information on their children, that's easy to access. We're trailing a online program/App for documenting.
