20.01.2022 As a centre owner/provider, your main focus is safety, health and wellbeing of the children while they are outdoors at the service. Therefore a close review is required during the design and construction phase is fencing and barriers and more importantly, external boundary/play area barriers. We generally recommend the 1.8m high solid timber lapped and capped fence; however, this provides a more enclosed outdoor space and doesn’t allow children to view the centres surrounding...s. We are now seeing a lot of different fencing styles, i.e. a picket, palisade, vertical balusters, these provide a lot more open space and viewing however need to meet strict guidelines in regards to both the building code of Australia i.e. Pool fencing code as well as taking into account department guidelines with finger, head and foot entrapment as well as footholds / climbing risks. The use of external audits is a great way to carry out a risk assessment on these elements however the true quality is that all they are designed and built correctly the first time around and there is no need to rely on audits or inspections after completion. Just like the kitchen is the he...art of the home, the level of function and quality of a centre’s kitchen affects its performance. The layout is crucial for a functioning kitchen to run smoothly and efficiently. It must be designed and built to the highest standard to ensure stringent building codes and authority requirements are met. Flooring, wall specifications, appliances, fixtures, range hoods that CCS install are of the highest standard and go above and beyond the standard grade of fixtures and finishes. Food for thought just remember your ‘back of house’ is just as important as your ‘front of house’ when planning a childcare centre. This type of functionality will increase your centres productivity and allow it to operate at the highest level.

13.01.2022 It gives us great satisfaction to be able to showcase our completed Bluebird Early Education Centre refurbishment project in Roseville. This facility is set within a quality commercial estate in Sydney's Lower North Shore. CCS were engaged to complete a full refurbishment and reconfiguration of the existing commercial unit into a childcare centre. There are several large internal playspace areas, cot room, bathroom with shower and a commercial kitchen. It features a large su...n-filled outdoor playspace with ample shade coverage and it maintains connectivity with nature through the unique perspex transparent window fencing. The refurbishment consisted of services, walls, flooring, joinery, wet areas, outdoor playspace, fencing and shade structures. 09.01.2022 Recently CCS completed property development feasibility / concept phase reports for a variety of childcare centres. These plans will help our clients to make more informed decisions on their projects and to give them a better understanding of whether their project is feasible and if it is ready to move to the next phase of DA Approval. 01.01.2022 It has been 6 months in the making and we are excited and proud to unveil our completed Camden Childcare Centre Project. Set in the heart of the Camden Business District within a heritage significant area the main envelope of the existing building has been restored. We have maintained its original character and charm and helped breathe new life into it whilst retaining the integrity of its history. In addition, to cater for the growing numbers of families in the Macarthur reg...ion we created an entire new build that connects to the existing building which increased the number of approved child places to 84. The centre features expansive play areas both inside and out, a commercial kitchen, modern features, and an abundance of natural light.
