21.01.2022 The EOYP for kids group last night reminded us again how beneficial this program is for bereaved kids and parents. It was also the perfect opportunity to again acknowledge the NCCGs 25th anniversary. Of course, there is no better way to do that than with a GIANT cake!!! Its size was certainly symbolic of the abundance in friendship, hope, resilience and love that exists within our community.

20.01.2022 This May, join the next group of professionals to undertake the Core Course in Bereavement Counselling. This foundational workshop has been created for those who want to act in an advocacy and supportive role for dying and bereaved people. There is a strong skills focus and practical application of relevant theory. For enrolment details click on this link https://childhoodgrief.org.au/education/

We probably have more in common now than in previous decades, but there are still differences in the way we are reacting." 20.01.2022 Once again, we were very lucky to have an enthusiastic and hard working team from First Sentier Investors donate their time towards a Working Bee at our Centre. Thankfully it wasn’t nearly as hot as last time! The team worked really hard to get the garden looking beautiful and for it to be a lovely space for the kids to be in.

17.01.2022 Last week we were fortunate to have Your Angel generously donate their time to host a Magic Workshop at our Centre. It was a great opportunity for some of our bereaved kids to build confidence and resilience through learning new skills and also to meet other bereaved children. A fabulous day was had by all!!

17.01.2022 A special thank you to the volunteer team from First Sentier Investors, who worked incredibly hard weeding and mulching the garden last week to have it ready for the EOYP for kids group. Simply amazing!

17.01.2022 In November 2009, nine year old Jessica came to A Friends Place for support, following the sudden death of her mother, Bianca. To acknowledge Biancas 10th anniversary in 2019, a close family friend, wished to support a cause in some way as a memorial to Bianca. They chose us... We were delighted to open Biancas Garden, our new potting shed activity recently. Children can now pot a plant or create a garden to take home and care for. Embellished with trinkets, colo...urs and words that symbolise memories of loved ones who have died, this is definitely a favourite activity at the moment. Not only does it strengthen memories with loved ones, it also reminds children of the safe and loving community they are part of here. A heartfelt thank you to our generous benefactor, Rev. Eric Stevenson, daughter Jessica and Biancas parents, Christine and Ken, for being part of such a wonderful project and a special thank you to the NCCG team members, Natalie and Kerri and volunteer, Gary, who made this happen.
