10.01.2022 My kids learnt a hard lesson today. Life isn’t always kind, new babies don’t all survive. Farm life is hard, not just droughts/floods/fires. But also the reality that you are dealing with life and death on a daily basis. I take my hat off to farmers as they have so much that they can teach us about resilience. Today was a sad day. We couldn’t save this calf . Prior to today my kids had only had to deal with the death of some chickens . It was much harder for they as it was just a baby and to quote my son. It didn’t get to do all of the things it was born to do. He was very sad that it’s potential got wasted. It had beautiful eyes and soft fur and will be missed. #farmlife
