25.01.2022 Wednesday 2nd September marks Early Childhood Educator Day. This day is about recognising and celebrating our educators and saying thank you for all the hard work that they do. We think that this year is especially important as educators have been a consistent source of support, care and love for children throughout Covid-19. We are asking parents to nominate an educator in the service to receive a special prize (a beautiful hamper and some cash!). We also encourage familie...s to share a special note about their nominated educator as we know they will love to read these messages. Please click on the link below to nominate an educator. Nominate an Educator Your child may want to create a note or drawing for a very special educator or multiple notes to hand out to a number of educators or just one for everyone in the room/centre. Please bring in these notes on the Wednesday 2nd of September, or through out the week if your child doesnt attend on the Wednesday. If you are not attending during the lock down period please upload it with your nominations, send it by email or drop it off in our letter box as we would love for you to still be involved. Lets show our amazing educators how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication. We cant wait to celebrate with you all and we are looking forward to receiving nominations and seeing all the smiles on our educators faces! 25.01.2022 Research shows us that sensory play for children builds on the nerve connections in the brains pathways, which leads to the chilrend ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Our room 3 children love their artwork so the educators set up this wonderful sensory experience to give them opportunities to explore and develop on their language, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction all while creating some pretty amazing artwork

12.01.2022 Dear Beautiful families, We hope you are all well and are staying safe throughout this time. We wanted to give you an update on a few things:- Normal Weekly Fees... Normal weekly fees resume; and you all should have received a statement this morning. This statement should indicate what your normal weekly fees are. Fees will be deducted from your account tomorrow; please ensure that your direct debit details are correct. Attachments Attached we have updated the COVID-19 policy and the payment of fees policy and the fee schedule. This has been updated to reflect new measures introduced at service level and by the government; these policies have also been updated in relation to fees and the transition from free childcare, back to CCS; and the provision that have been set out if a service goes into a lockdown e.g. waiving of gap fees. Please read them when it is convenient to do so. Entering and Exiting Childs Play ELC We making it mandatory that when you and your child have their temperature checked when coming in or exiting the service, that the people taking the temperature WILL be wearing masks, visors and will be using an infrared gun to take temperatures. Please as you are entering / or exiting ensure that you are maintaining social distancing requirement of 1.5 metres, we have set up i-pad stations around the reception desk to ensure that you maintain 1.5 social distancing measures. If there are a few families in reception then perhaps if you could wait outside until it clears. At the moment it is NOT compulsory for the educators in the service to wear masks, although we are encouraging this and ensuring that we have resources to educate children about the usage and wearing of masks. Take care and Stay safe Much love and respect Sam and Ian

10.01.2022 Room 1 children have been exploring Science Week. The educators made sensory bags filled with coloured gel. As the children moved the gel around with their hands, they were able to explore the cause and effect of the colours mixing inside the bags.

10.01.2022 On the 7th of August we celebrated Jeans for Genes day and room 7 created an amazing display. They used an old pair of jeans, what a great idea and the children did such an amazing job! Thank you for celebrating this day with us and raising some much needed money for the research into Childrens genetic diseases

10.01.2022 Fees at Childs Play Torquay All parents at Childs Play ELC Torquay will have their gap fees waived if their children dont attend childcare, while we will be able to claim subsidies (CCS component of your fees) for children who arent there. This means that until the 13th September you will only pay for the childcare you actually use!!... What are we asking of our parents? We would ask all of our parents to keep their children/bookings in childcare, if you require it moving forward, to help you and the us get through this time. We will be contacting all families in the service and asking them what they intend to do moving forward, so that we can plan accordingly e.g. online learning, catering and staffing. There will be a point when we will go back to working / studying and we want you to consider this before making any rash decisions which may make it difficult for you to return to work as you cannot have adequate / the preferred care from the childcare of your choice. How much will I pay? You pay for the childcare you use therefore if your child attends then you will be charged your normal daily fee. Therefore, if your child is sick or if you are feeling uneasy about sending your child at this time then you have options, and you wont be obligated to pay for days that perhaps you are not using at this time. Absences If you know that your child is going to be absent from childcare, we would ask that you communicate IN WRITING via kindyhub, or emails to let the service know (preferably before 9am of that day). If you do not contact us, then we will be calling you by 10.30 on that day. This will help us to staff accordingly and support you and your child whether you are attending the service or not! If you foresee that you will not be attending childcare during his whole lockdown period, please let us know and we can mark you as absent throughout the whole time. Thank you for your help and support, Ian & Sam

09.01.2022 Friendly Reminder Room 6 Kinder children will be participating in the lunchbox program from tomorrow Monday the 30th of November for a period of 2 weeks. In this time, we will be encouraging the children to bring their lunchbox (just as they would when they start school); we will be providing additional food for the children if they need it. Can we ask that children do not pack nuts, eggs or mango products in their lunchbox as we are a nut free and egg free service, and w...e have 2 anaphylactic children who cannot have/be exposed to these products. Please use this opportunity to provide your child with a healthy balanced lunchbox. On arrival in the mornings educators will be checking the lunch boxes to make sure that the food being brought into the centre are appropriate. If you have any questions or need any assistance please make sure you call the front desk. See more

05.01.2022 "Today is not a good day." This is how the update from the Premiers office began today. As a result of higher numbers, and the pattern of how they see those nu...mbers spreading, a couple of key changes are going into effect: starting at 11:59pm tonight (30 July) no visitors are allowed in your home, as this has been the biggest source of transmission outside of workplaces. from 11:59pm on Sunday 2 August, all Victorians must have a face covering when they are out in public. Council facilities remain open according to these restrictions. Please remember: maintain social distancing, practice good hygiene, and be kind and patient with those around you who are also adjusting to these changes. And, if you show ANY symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested. Read the full announcement: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//statement-premier-30-july-2020 Learn more about face coverings: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/face-masks-victoria-covid-19 Find out about testing locations: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/getting-tested

03.01.2022 Dear Beautiful Families, Sanitising hands Can I remind all families to sanitise their hands BEFORE they mark children into or out of the service for that day; this will help to ensure the iPad is disinfected and reduce the risk infection.... Facemasks Following on from the statement from the Premier on Thursday, facemasks need to be worn whilst outside of your house from Midnight tonight (2nd August), therefore parents MUS wear a face mask at all times when in the building, if you do not have a face covering we will not allow you to enter the service. Drop off & Pick up As per my previous email parents will drop off and collect their children from reception rather than going into the room. Only 1 parent will be allowed in reception at any one time. We ask families to not enter the reception area if there is already someone in the reception area. Whilst waiting outside please follow social distancing guidelines. Sick Children Just to re-iterate if your child is not 100% in any capacity please keep them away from childcare on that day; seek advice from a doctor before they return. If a child is at the service and showing signs of illness we will contact you and we will expect you to pick the child up ASAP. Lastly thank you. We are all in this together and have loved the way in which our community has supported one another and been open and communicated cohesively!

01.01.2022 Reminder to all families that we are checking temperatures of everyone who is dropping off and picking up or entering the service including all staff. All temperatures need to be below 38 degrees. Thank you for your help with this process as it continues
