21.01.2022 #PeoplesDailyComments: U.S. cultural hegemony threatens global cultural security The White House recently designated another six Chinese media outlets in the U....S. as foreign missions, the latest move of the U.S. political oppression and stigmatization against Chinese media outlets and journalists. It serves as another proof to the U.S. severe disruption of normal cultural exchanges and adoption of cultural hegemony based on Cold War mentality and ideological prejudices. The U.S., on one hand is taking cultural export as a national strategy, and on the other hand is oppressing others in the cultural and ideological spheres, trying to transform other countries’ values. It exposed its nature of cultural hegemony and seriously threatens international cultural security. Cultures shall be diversified, equal and inclusive. Civilizations have become richer and more colorful with exchanges and mutual learning. The long human history has already proved that exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations are an important power driving human progress and peaceful development of the world. To enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges is a common aspiration of all the people across the world and conforms to the common interests of all countries. However, some U.S. politicians are incredibly taking normal cultural and people-to-people exchanges as a thorn in the flesh. Cultural hegemony is flowing in their blood. Last year, they even blatantly announced to launch a civilization competition between China and the U.S., and build a frame of U.S.-China relations based on the clash of civilizations. Such practice received broad criticism and condemnation from the international society. This year, the U.S. further intensified its efforts in this regard and escalated its political oppression against Chinese media outlets in the U.S. It forcefully interfered and even hindered the normal operation of China-U.S. cooperation programs including the Confucius Institutes, monitored, harassed and detained Chinese students and scholars in the U.S., and frequently launched unreasonable lawsuits. These practices have severely undermined the normal exchanges and cooperation between the two countries, which obviously went against mainstream public opinion, indicating that some U.S. politicians are standing on the opposite side of the Chinese and American people. Containment and infiltration are conventional combination used by the U.S. to shape and dominate international orders with Western culture and values. Some U.S. politicians, stubbornly believing in American exceptionalism, hold that the U.S. must make its values and democratic system universal. They believe that’s the only way to maintain their national security. Driven by cultural hegemony, the U.S. is massively selling its own ideology in the world and fanning up ideological confrontation. After the September 11 attacks, the White House launched the Greater Middle East Initiative, taking Iraq as a test field for American democracy. However, the initiative only brought infinite religious conflicts, ethnic confrontations and violence to Iraq. The U.S. also sent its troops to Afghanistan, and launched armed intervention in Libya and Syria, in the name of helping them building so-called democratic countries, but only opened one and another Pandora’s boxes followed by continuous disasters. The U.S. export of so-called democracy and freedom has become a symbol for disorder, hunger, poverty and blood. Recently, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo even shamelessly acted as a spokesperson for democracy and freedom, but it is evident to all that these U.S. politicians are instigating ideological confrontation and promoting cultural hegemony to serve the interest groups behind them. It is alarming that the U.S. cultural hegemony has threatened global cultural security. The White House has long taken educational and cultural exchanges as its fourth dimension of its diplomacy. It has cultivated non-governmental organizations and funds, trying to spread the seed of American worship to every corner of the world, and it’s no secret. The U.S. also exploited its advantages in internet publicity to control the flow of global information, taking internet as a channel for its cultural hegemony. Now, certain U.S. politicians, being aware of the definite failure of their attempt to alter China, turned their tactic to slandering China all over the world to provoke ideological confrontation and forced other countries to oppose China. As a Chinese saying goes, There is enough space under sky for all lives and ways to live.. Cultural diversity does exist in human society, and mankind’s wisdom is further improved by mutual learning. Those who resort to cultural hegemony will finally be isolated.(By Zhong Sheng)

This will take the Government's total business support to o...ver $6 billion. #BusinessSupport #KeyInformation Over $1.1 billion in cash grants will support small and medium sized businesses that are most affected by coronavirus restrictions including $822 million as part of the third round of the Business Support Fund. Around 75,000 eligible businesses with payrolls up to $10 million will receive grants of $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000 depending on their size. To support our bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs, hotels and reception centres, the Government will establish a $251 million dedicated Licenced Venue Fund, with grants of between $10,000 and $30,000 for licenced venues of all shapes and sizes. Liquor licence fees for 2021 will also be waived. To provide a much needed $1.7 billion cashflow boost for businesses, the Government will now defer payroll tax for businesses with payrolls up to $10 million for the full 2020-21 financial year. $44 million will be invested to equip businesses with the support they need to thrive under a COVID Normal. It includes $20 million for small businesses to access off-the-shelf digital programs such as Shopify or Squareonline, training and workshops designed to help businesses adapt to online operations. The Government will also partner with local business groups and chambers of commerce, with grants of up to $20,000 so they can help their members adapt and find their feet in a COVID Normal world. So...y resentida para los fachos, clase autoexplotada según Byung-Chul Han, abundante en comparación con mis ancestras, sofisticada en comparación con mi infancia, niña gigante que usa encendedor según mis sobrinos, lumpen para la policía, oprimida por la hegemonía, intelectual y pillina para mis tíos canutos, emprendedora para los neoliberales, influencer para los publicistas, artista en mi corazón, cabra lesa para mi familia. Vulnerable según el Banco Mundial, clase media para el Estado chileno, clase alta si viviera en África, indigente si fuera europea, llamo a la abundancia con rituales inventados, por las noches bruxismo de la incertidumbre. 14.01.2022 With a home more important than ever, the Victorian Government is ensuring greater certainty and security for residential tenants and landlords by extending the... eviction moratorium until 28 March 2021. Under legislation introduced to Parliament this week, evictions would continue to be banned for residential tenancies, except in certain circumstances, until that date. Rental increases would continue to be banned for the same period. To be clear though if you can pay your rent, you must continue to pay your rent. These measures are effective state-wide, regardless of whether you rent in a Stage 3 or Stage 4 restricted area. Sabía lo del golpe militar, no por el colegio - las profesoras se las arreglaban para quedarse pegadas en el gobierno d...e Alessandri- sino por un tío que cuando aparecía el senador vitalicio Augusto Pinochet en la tele decía mira, ya salió este chuchesumadreeee. La adolescencia callejera me enseñó más que la tevé noventera cómplice y los colegios cobardes. A veces algún amigo comentaba un modo de tortura de la dictadura chilena y yo seguía la corriente como si ya supiera. Luego seguía tomando y conversando como si nada, mientras por dentro procesaba la atrocidad. Mi último velo caído fue cuando un pinche me explicó la intervención de EE.UU. Cuando supe eso, recién entendí como funciona el mundo y en parte, cómo funcionan los adultos que nos criaron entre secuelas no asumidas y miedos democráticos disfrazados de despolitización. El año 2020 escrito parece un año futurista. 2020 debería ser sinónimo de autos voladores y vidas sofisticadas gracias a la ayuda tecnológica, pero esa inspiración supersónica queda demasiado por debajo de un país con traumas de 1973 ¿Dónde están los desaparecidos? ¿Puede la condición humana ponerse por debajo de un pacto de protección y silencio? Y¿ dónde estamos ahora? Aquí, gobernados por los mismos que dieron el golpe un 11 de septiembre y quedando nuevamente impunes del estallido de Octubre. Sin reparación y sin justicia, el círculo del maltrato se repite una y otra vez, volviendo con el maltratador falsamente arrepentido que dice que ahora sí que sí cambió.
