19.01.2022 With all the sadness, confusion and fear that we are all feeling at the moment, we hope this brings our supporters some happiness. A few months ago, This cheeky monkey was one of many found lost, hurt and alone on the firegrounds. But thanks to the generosity of people like you, He (and many others like him) are well on their road to recovery. Without you this would not have been possible. Warby Street Veterinary Hospital

14.01.2022 Can you find the ringtail possum? Some facts about Ringtail Possums: * Ringtails are often found in hollow logs where they build their nests (dreys) out of sticks, bark and grass. ... * Ringtails LOVE to eat young eucalyptus leaves, they also eat flowers, shrubs, wattle, Cyprus pines and fruits. They are particularly fond of roses and blueberries. * As with most eucalypt eating natives, Ringtails can become super fat if they are fed too many treats, this is why we always recommend a natural diet. * Ringtail possums are highly sociable and thrive in groups often made up of at least one male and two females. * Ringtail possums are prey for a number of animals including cats, owls, eagles and foxes. If you find a ringtail possum please call us and one of our dedicated volunteers will advise you of what to do next!

07.01.2022 While we would not usually post a response to the ‘trolls’ their harassment has been non stop for weeks on end. And we believe that bullying is never ok. So we would like to address a few things. It has been brought to our attention again that an individual that has never been to our shelter or seen our animals is spreading FALSE information. This individual has gone so far as to print off flyers and post them in local towns. This individual has also Placed calls to local vet...Continue reading

05.01.2022 **** WHAT ARE YOUR DONATIONS GOING TOWARDS? **** All of your very generous donations are going towards rebuilding and fitting out a new joey housing unit. We have been in contact with a Melbourne company that builds modular pods and houses and are in the process of ordering our new housing unit in the coming days. We have aimed to organise transport for the end of March so that we still have time to fundraise for transport and fit out costs. We want to give a massive thank yo...u to everyone who has donated and crafted items for us, we honestly cannot thank you all enough it wouldn’t be possible without all of you wonderful people and businesses. We are so close to our goal and we can’t wait to share the next few months with you all, there will be updates every step of the way! Please subscribe and share our new website with friends and family to keep up to date with everything going on at the shelter from new purchases to animal welfare updates! -CWS https://chiltern-wildlife-shelter.myshopify.com
