22.01.2022 G’day Crew; Been a while I’ve been flat out like a centipede scratching . I urge people to be vigilante with there heaters as a fire occurred at a property a couple of days ago at a property where I had just serviced the heater. It would appear that a spark has come out of the damper or as some call it air control and ignited a card box 3 feet away from the heater. I have never heard of this happening before but silly shit happens sometimes. ... The occupant put the fire out before the brigade arrived. I have added a photo of the type of heater involved . So keep an eye on your heaters Don’t overfire the heater by this I mean once you get the fire going adjust the air control so the fire isn’t roaring. See more

09.01.2022 G’day crew ; Just wanted to touch base on an issue. I had to remove two dead brush tail possums from a heater flue this week. I think this would be a horrible way to die . They think they are going into a cosy log to make a home but fall down the stainless flue which is only 6 inches in diameter . When they hit the bottom they find themselves stuck , can’t turn around , can’t climb out even if their partner hadn’t followed them and landed on top of them. ... Inside the heater is a baffle plate which stops them coming out into the firebox. The unwitting heater owners haven’t got a clue that the possums are stuck so they try and light the fire SAY NO MORE . The owners get smoked out so they call me and I have to extract either a very aggressive possum or a dead one. Sometimes the owners are away or it’s a holiday home so the possum has been in there a month or two or more . What a way to go. It’s a problem easily fixed , I put cage mesh wire around the cowl , simple huh. They can get in under a standard cowl or Chinamans hat so don’t kid yourself . If you live in an area where possums live please get your flue or chimney possum proofed. That’s all Bye See more

01.01.2022 Now how does that song go ? Some days are diamonds and some turn to crap . Last job of the day up in the Strzelecki Ranges , farm driveway crawling along down hill slight turn to the right , well that was the plan but slippery track , gatepost, split second , CRUNCH , Bugger not gunna be cheap . Had to add a bit of reinforcing for the drive home.
