25.01.2022 Sharing our closing post from last week on Heart for Kids... too good not to share :-)
23.01.2022 Our latest trip to the villages visiting kids supported for their education was our scariest and possibly saddest so far... https://www.heartforkids.org/resources/video/ #LetsHelpOneMore
21.01.2022 Love the confidence in the eyes of this young guy just a few years after joining our Doves Wings family. This 2-minute video shares some of the challenges being faced and importantly what's happening to help kids face them.
17.01.2022 Our latest news includes a video telling the stories of 2 young children grabbing our hearts during mercy teams and years after the events these children still have a hold in our heart. Our June dinner, where we usually share with hundreds of people about the great impacts being seen in the lives of so many children, was regrettably cancelled. We were going to hear more success stories about Doves Wings children joining their Forever Families but sadly this year we couldn't d...o that and it's proving to be a challenge. Why not take a few minutes to catch up on some good things happening in the world today... #LetsHelpOneMore
13.01.2022 David asked some of us from the last couple of teams to share some photos that were special to us and why. I found it a bit hard as there were so many and each one I looked at reminded me of the great and humbling time it was, but anyway here's what I chose. The first one is of the team at W House, a place where young adults are helped with life skills and encouraged to be more independent and in some way hopefully enter the workforce. We did a program with them and then the...y showed us some of the things they make and sell and I was amazed at the artistic skills a lot of them have. Second photo is of one of the tireless workers, such a neat guy to hang out with. Loved his stories and insights of life in his country, especially for those they try to help, he always made me feel so welcome. Halfway across the world and who would have thought I would be helping to teach 90 primary aged school children for a day, so different from what my day to day job. It was a challenge but was also very rewarding. And the final photo, what can I say Mini Me!! Well maybe not. This guy stole my heart on my first trip and was so glad to see him again last time and the progress he has made. Looking forward to being able to go back and see him again, but it would be just as good if I don't see him cause it will mean something so special has happened for him, hopefully joining his Forever Family. #LetsHelpOneMore Warren Wilson Adele Goh Tom Chan
10.01.2022 Catch 3 short stories in just 4 minutes in our latest news video. How is COVID-19 affecting 2 mothers and 1 of the children in our community. https://www.heartforkids.org/resources/video/ #LetsHelpOneMore #covid19 Ken Lee Tom Chan Adele Goh
09.01.2022 One of the girls we've been helping for many years to gain her education has gone on to study nursing. I love hearing how now she wants to help even more people herself. She says maybe she could study psychology or nutrition so she can help more people than those who come to her ward as a nurse. Was really encouraged to hear this news from one of our team this morning. #LetsHelpOneMOre #heartforkids
08.01.2022 Love reading team members stories and experiences. Jacqueline writes.....Having been on the Mercy team a number of times, having to share a particular photo is almost impossible, I have so many favourites. So I am sharing three. It was a wonderful answer to prayer when my daughter J. asked to come along and serve on team with me. So I am sharing a photo of J cuddling a baby on her first team and the two of us (and our two Sponsor children) on her 2nd team visit. Each team I ...have served on has been different. Every time, I see God’s hand in how he has chosen and brought the right people with the right gifts to serve Him and the children for that particular time. I count it a privilege to be able to go, serve alongside others, to be God’s hands and feet, bringing love, care and showing those we serve and meet that they are important and matter. It’s a joy spending time with the babies, children and young adults. Having fun together, singing, teaching crafts, bringIng a smile to faces and hearing much laughter as achievements are conquered are memories that will stay with me forever. JW #LetsHelpOneMore

06.01.2022 Heike is a lady from Germany who has been on 5 teams since 2006. She is one of our team heros. This is a little story she wrote for us... Forgive me, it took me... a little while to have peace about what to write and what photos to chose. I am very grateful to God that I met Heart for Kids. God touched my heart for China and the children many years ago. I love seeing a child enjoy it when I take care of them. I always try to respond to the children's wishes and thereby show them that they are important and valuable. Especially the children who have resigned, maybe given up on things and show no reaction, I try to reach them with my heart and God's love. The girl who goes up the slide in the children's home didn't show much interest or enthusiasm at first. I always encouraged her by responding to every small reaction from her. Her smile and joy was a gift to me! I keep thinking about her and praying for her. There are many children who have touched my heart. These photos only show some of them. I don't have photos of all of the children, but some special children have long been in my heart. It was always nice and challenging for me to be in a team where only English was spoken. I got to know very nice team members and the community and praying together was very beneficial. God's presence was often felt. I am happy and thankful for these teams. Heike thank you so much for your faithful service over many years. #LetsHelpOneMore
06.01.2022 Adele talks with Ying about her experiences with Heart for Kids and creative ways she has supported the childrens ministry. #LetsHelpOneMore #HeartForKids
03.01.2022 Elisha has come on our teams a number of times. He and his wife Rachel are really valued people in the Heart for Kids community. Elisha on the floor with 2 of our friends in China is a favourite photo for me because I know the huge heart Elisha has both for those he serves and for the gift of music. Elisha has just posted a video on Youtube, it's really worth having a look as it captures what many people are feeling through this year of separation. Please click the link and h...ead over to listen to Elisha's song. https://youtu.be/eN12Ad9x_nU #LetsHelpOneMore #heartforkids #missions #orphans
