23.01.2022 Congratulations to Michael Barker and Peter Jones our New A Club Pairs Champions for 2019-20 year. The best game of Bowls I have witnessed in a long time. All four bowlers played amazing bowls. Peter and Gerard Bellgrove looked like they had the title in the bag. Peter and Michael had other plans. Brilliant bowling by Micael and in particular Peter to score 2 fours in three ends. 21-18 to Bellgrove’s on the last end. Peter and Michael picked up another 4 to take the win 22-21.

01.01.2022 PLAYER OF THE WEEK: One of the best bowlers in the district, Des Obst has been playing for 46 years and is still going strong at 90 making it down to the green... at least once a week for a game on the green. The secret to being active late in life Des said is, plenty of greens, plenty of steak and a few beers a day and that will get you to 90. You have to keep active especially being alone now I’m not into just sitting at home and watching the grass grow, you got to keep moving around. Bowls is a great sport, there’s such a nice lot of people that play these days, the company is very good. It’s like every other sport - you enjoy the game and the friendship after, and always go to the club house and have a few beers and a bit of a talk about what you should and shouldn’t have done during the game.
